Is Apple`s Aqua dead?

I think the Leopard UI is derived from the Aqua Interface of the past OS X..

So it can't be totally 'dead'.

Aqua has not died, it has only evolved. Like pwnzrzpat said, Aqua is more than how windows or buttons look. For that matter Tiger looks a lot different than Mac OS 10.0, it now has plastic, brushed metal, toned down pinstripes, refined buttons/scrollbars, different looking dock and menu bar, etc. but it's still Aqua isn't it?

So now we have Leopard, which introduces more new UI elements and removes and/or refines some of the old ones, though it is still Aqua, and not so radically different than Tiger. I guess those rumors about Apple totally replacing Aqua with Illuminous weren't true.
