Do you like Aqua, iTunes 7 or Cover Flow Scrollbars?

Which one do you like the most?

In order and state the reason why.

Me:

1. Cover Flow scrollbars (Glossy black just looks so nice, my 1st choice)

2. iTunes 7 scrollbars (I like the look)

3. Aqua scrollbars (look fine)

I just love the iTunes 7 scrollbars.

I was stuck choosing between the cloverflow and iTunes 7, but i chose the itunes 7 scrollbar.

I left aqua after June 11th, once leopard was demoed. ;)

Interesting. After all of the flack the iTunes 7 scrollbars and colour scheme have received, it's looking like the initial champ.

I hate the itunes 7 scrollbars and the blurry blue elements

Since iPhoto '08 has iTunes 7 scrollbars, it's reasonable to guess that Leopard will have iTunes 7 scrollbars and hopefully an option of black glossy (Cover Flow) scrollbars as well (I like them too). It's time for a new look in Leopard. Aqua was great back then and now it's time for iTunes 7 scrollbars and/or Cover Flow scrollbars.

I hope there is an option in Leopard. I like the iTunes 7 scrollbars. Is there a way to have iTunes 7 scrollbars in Tiger? for all apps like Safari?

#468667

@WDR:I think The ACTUAL Leopard will support the iTunes 7 scrollbars.

I do not not know about 9A500. But I like how far this is going!:)

@Mac Intosh:Just get shapeshifter and find a theme.

I used to use iMetal for windowblinds for sometime. ;)

Check this thread.

I'd rather prefer the aqua scrollbars, because the new ones are gray and take color out of the interface. The glossy black ones from the cover flow are also amazing, but the ones in iTunes 7 are horrible:)

Check this thread.

Yes But I just want the Scrollbars and that is it. I am already using UNO.

Uninstall UNO. I used UNO before and I can tell you that the theme in the linked thread is about the same as UNO but has iTunes 7 scrollbars.

#468705

Yea but the buttons and all change. The Menu Bar changes. I just like the scrollbar.

i cant believe the majority of you guys picked the iTunes 7 scrollbars. they're so hideous.

Just give it some time, Apple is clearly heading into the iTunes 7 scrollbars direction with Leopard. I am sure that after people use Leopard (when it's released and if it does have iTunes 7 scrollbars) people will like iTunes 7 scrollbars more and it will grow on them. Even the iPhone has iTunes 7 scrollbars, so Apple is clearly heading into that direction.

haha people that say the new itunes 7 look, have no taste... imho.

I tend to think a lot of people will stick by Apple's new look reguardless of how Windows 3.1 it looks... seriously those pastelly scrollbars look almost like something from a dodgy linux OS.

(Ohh wait, OSX is :P -jk)

As for Aqua, its nice, candy-like, better than anything at the time, but in hindsight it looks a little toyish... a little too sugarry, but the gloss is nice all the same.

so why not look pro and glossy? ... like that office secretary who comes accross professional yet wears her business suit (well fitted, with black stockings and a miniskirt) in such a way that she still looks hot...

Thats coverflow! Bring on ILLUMINOUS!

http://www.aqua-soft.org/board/showthread....ight=ILLUMINOUS

glossy, not too sweet, yet smooth and sexy... and black suggesting professionalism.

and a lil silver highlight to match in with the exterior of Mac (lets face it, brushed metal is too... much).

EDIT-

Anyone seen iMovie's new theme?... it looks like the itunes 7 theme only made grayscale/black and white.

I just wish Apple would finally make a decision and make it ALL consistant through the OS, i mean even Tiger's themed windows (itunes, mail, finder etc) are all different and over the place!

it seems they are going to go with the itunes look (gahh!!!) because iLife 08 (iphoto, imovie etc) all use that 'look' along with the iPhone as previously mentioned.

The iTunes 7 scroll bars are the best out of the three, and Apple seems to agree with this, as the iWork '08 products use those scroll bars as well, and it's very likely they will be adopted system-wide through Leopard. Aqua appears to be retired, this would include its scroll bars. The Cover Flow scroll bars are nice, but it's something that should be reserved just for that one purpose.

#468907

i love itunes scoll bars! ..if only they were blue not gray

Use the Canum GUI.kit, and then you do get blue iTunes 7-esque scroll bars.

It's called an opinion, read up on them sometime.

You live up to your self-title of Mactard.

haha no offence intended. I just dont like the new itunes 7 look, and couldnt resist using your own title to insult you.

Yeah I think the aqua 'gel' items are dead- such as scrollbars and buttons. but certain elements will remain- such as blue headers in spotlight, and blue menu items etc etc etc.

And I think Aqua's influence will remain- with (silver, grey, other) glossy buttons etc.

Yeah I tried to implement black coverflow style glossy scrollbars into a theme and they just looked wrong. Check out iMovie 08's new theme and see what i'm talking about!

Thats why I used silver ones in my illuminous theme.

Just like black themes can be overpowering, so can black elements, its important to find the right balance or light and dark.

I voted for Aqua, but black coverflow are nice too. Itunes/iPhoto's are disgusting.

#469622

I voted for the iTunes bars, they're the next big thing, I think that's clear. So we may as well get used to them. Honestly I've never liked the Aqua bars at all, and I don't think the Coverflow ones would fit into the GUI all that well.

Same here, the stock Aqua scroll bars are ugly. The iTunes 7 one look much better.

I changed my mind. I like Cover Flow scrollbars the most now and I want them to be in Leopard.
