After watching members browse through this forum for the past hour, with only a very few posts at any given time (right now there are 44 people online, smeggy and I are the only people that have posted in the past 15 minutes) I wonder why people are taking, but not giving back.

Everyone has access to the "New Thread" button, and there are more than enough threads here that are very generalized in the direction of the discussion.

Yeah, but some off-topic threads get deleted, and some don't. When you combine that with the declaration that "community" threads are forbidden, the forum is not a very inviting place to post.

Oh, now come on. How many people have gotten in trouble or banned because of posting something the mods didn't like or found offtopic and annoying?
I don't mind you not allowing off topic stuff, but don't blame us for not posting.
I mean look at these rules:
» No Graphical Material
» No Piracy "Warez"
» No Flaming
» No Political/Religious Posts
What the hell are we suppose to talk about? 
Oh, DZ: I have Acid Reflux too. Its a pain, but I've never had to go to the hospital for it.
The "ALL MEMBERS READ THIS" thread isn't overly encouraging either.

*Porn
*Stealing
*Insulting others
*The Church and State
Seriously? Personally, I could discuss things like family, hardware, movies, music, books, software, art, style and a an entire world of topics.
As for the "ALL MEMBERS READ THIS" thread, did you actually read it? What I saw (and apparently Duckie did too) was a bunch of people whining, crying, flaming and defaming this site! Why bother to even register if a person is going to do that? Was Duckie pissed? He should have been. I promise you he handled that better than I would have. At the first sign of people *****ing about what they hate on AS I would have just started suspending accounts instead of actually warning people like he did.
Imagine this: You create a site for the community. All you ask that certain topics, like PORN, THEFT and INSULTING other members are avoided (religion/ politics is avoided because it always leads to insults, always). Instead of people dealing with it (actually most of the members deal with it just fine, they just have no reason to be vocal because they aren't complaining) they want to *****. How would you feel?
So again I say post. Not about PORN. Not about new ways to STEAL. And is it so hard to not insult others? What ever happened to being creative? Has anyone thought that nobody has started up a game thread for the Aqua community, similar to Photoshop Tennis or the one word thread? I've done just a few (Make your own Apple ad) and there are countless more to be made. Please don't pretend Im the only creative mind here, because I know thats not true. I just care enough to actually try something new once in awhile.

It's funny sometimes, how boards full of amicable computer freaks who pound out the fightsong for freedom and anarchy every day on their keyboards simultaneously create board rules that put a few in control - even giving the leaders the ability to control speech.
What does this mean? Human nature is a be*tch.
One more comment - it might be a matter of dialect, but the warning "No Graphical Material" confuses me on a site dedicated to changing my Graphical User Interface. It makes me want to open up a terminal and type "c:\>run "looklikeamac.exe""
And one last unrelated question - is AS based in the UK? I get the feeling that this site isn't from my native USA. Which is pretty friggin' cool if that's the case.
