Adobe CS3

I'll definately be 'getting' the sell your kidney edition...

(ie- someone will donate thier kidney for me - jk :P )

I'll stick with CS2 for a while. Then move to CS3.

#450034

CS2 works just fine for me.

I see no reason to upgrade.

#450036

I'm getting Production Premium ASAP.

#450039

Watch anyone of those. Thats why you should upgrade

Again... CS2 does everything I need it too.

I already have action scripts that will do most of the stuff that was added to CS3.

I have yet to find a feature in CS3 that I must have or even need for that matter.

New bells and whistles alone are not a reason to upgrade unless they are something YOU NEED.

Having the latest and greatest just so you can say you have it, and not actually need it, is a waste of money.

Anyone know if you can use the Mac copy (serial) on Windows aswell? I know dreamweaver before the takeover allowed you to use the same copy on any os.

I think this would be cool, since it would leave room for versality, but I'm not sure how it would work. I don't think it is a Windows/Mac suite, isn't the Creative Suite 3 coming in separate editions (Mac and Windows standalone versions)?

#450081

yes it is. personally i believe Apple is coning Adobe to make the Mac version a little better

#450085

well, judging from the product specs, actually Windows is getting more.

i remember the day i walked into Bureau En Gros (thats Staples for you Americans;)) and walking up to the cashier and asking him if he has Photoshop. He's like "sure, one second. Yes, we have it in stock." and i said "sweet, how much?" and hes like "749 dollars." and i look at him like hes crazy and just walk out.

Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit.

It isn't cheap, but when you can write it off as a business expense, it doesn't hurt too bad.

#450127

just realized. 740$ in canada is like 450$ here in the US of A ;)

Try again.

740.00 Canadian Dollar(s) = 639.972 US Dollar(s)

And that's on sale.

Full retail is $699.00 US

CS3 Upgrade is $199.00 US

The Extended Upgrade is $349.00 US

#450130

:| know where i can get the upgrade?

#450131

Can get a laptop faster than a macbook for 500-600$

#450147

Illustrator's Live Color and Erase features are the REASONS to upgrade, rjohnstone.

#450209

Aaaymen. :P

Who already has PSCS3? think the whole suite will be worth it?

#450257

i just got PSCS3, but nothing else. everything else is CS2...

#450260

you forgot to say 'find another free program if you can't afford it, eg. GIMP or Paint.NET'.

whoo, inline linking rules almost as much as hidden messages!

Some of the best programs are free, eg. SUPER for video conversion, or iTunes for library management etc.

How true.

And GIMP is pretty damn good for a free app.

Very cool, but I don't use Illustrator at the moment.

I may go there in the future, but the Photoshop enhancements aren't enough to make me switch... yet.

I have a HUGE library of action scripts that pretty much cover what I need and I'm more than satisfied with CS2 for now anyway.
