iTunes 7.1 Release

Zennalatha, do you use coverflow? iTunes will use a lot of memory when scanning through the covers if you have alot of albums. I have over 10000 songs and I get up to 5-600 mb after a while.

I do use coverflow. I understand that feature is a hog, but it shouldn't have all the art loaded all the time, as, when it skips songs, the covers between them often turn into the default blank ones. So, the fact that it continually builds memory usage is just ridiculous. Either it's storing every piece of cover art in the coverflow playlist, or it's a horrible memory leak. I think it's the latter. It just seems to continually parse the songs' covers until it works it's way up to a point where it can drag the OS down. Hopefully Apple will patch this out and remember that some of its uses have large libraries, else we might as well switch to WinAMP. I'm personally fed up with having to reload iTunes every hour or so.

20k songs is certainly not the largest library in the world, so is it that iTunes is no longer able to support my music collection properly, or is cover flow just experiencing glitches? Any ideas?

I don't want to sacrifice Cover Flow...it's the only reason I still bother with iTunes.
