thats awesome, I always thought MacOSX would look awesome with vista like transparencies (while maintaining aqua elements such as buttons, icons, etc)...
hope this inspires a theme 
EDIT- Does MacOSX support such transparencies? is it restricted to menus only? under shapeshifter?

it's the default vista rtm wallpaper. a quick google led me to all the wallpapers. (i'd upload them to my own site but they're pretty big and i assume a lot of people would download them)

i just noticed the 'gleams' (those diagonal lines that appear on the glass) are cut off when you drag the window onto the black bars, it shouldn't do that

Umm its not actually my wall... (its the one Im using tho thats what i meant ) but sure if u want, go ahead should be easy in photoshop.
As for MacOSX and theming its really annoying, theres like ten billion extra things u have to skin... but yeah macOSX is very pretty...

err... look im a total noob.... and I dont have much time to do all this stuff. If I could I would. I love flyakite.
But seeing as I dont use windows that often anymore this is for MacOSX, I dont even think such transparencies are possible in XP... but if this inspires a Windows Port, then great!...
but even tho im busy i've been working on it but dont put time frames on this unless you want to do it, because I have literally no experience at this and its all a bit hit and miss, trial and error...

I couldnt get the windows to theme properly, if i made them too transparent, a black showed up behind them.
if anyone wants to make it, I can give my advice and what I know... althought its been a while

I think so.... but I dont what programs are available for creating themes on vista.
Vista doesnt have the limitations of the OSX theme engine, because the entire window can be made transparent. OSX windows are divided up into sections which are themed differently. while some can be made transparent, others reveal a black background when the foreground image is made transparent.
If anyone can tell me what program they use to mod/make themes (such as hilled Se, see the Aquasoft WIKI under Vista themes for links) then I would be more than happy to give this a shot! (no promises )
Have you tried resource tuner? I dunno if it can do what you want it to... but you could try modding the aero.mssstyle in vista like that..
