My ride is: Public Transit. Specifically St. Louis' MetroBus. (www.metrostlouis.org).
I cant believe that most of you have quite nice cars!... mine is good but not on par with some of those seen in this thread;

... but this is my first car, and I'm only 18 so i cant complain!... +it suits my 'metro' style hahaha....
Thats a pretty nice car, esp. for an 18 year old. You must have a good job

thanx... no not really, I work as a Barista (coffee maker). I got the car cheap at auction, $7000 AUD (opposed to $15000 at a car yard).
My parents paid 1/3 of the price which is also nice ![]()
aren't all german cars? thats why they have that damn 155mph limiter on all of them!

Yes... also because the kind of cars that Mercedes, Audi, Volkswagen and BMW build, while technically capable of going over 155mph, would really have to be redesigned to be safe and stable above that speed. Whereas a Porsche is originally designed with such speeds in mind.
My parents left the country... so this is my latest inheritance
Parking in town is a b**ch though...

Not true. These cars you speak of were design to run the Autobahn. They are designed for and very capable of going 155 and faster.
Black 2007 Rx350...

I had my previous car stolen and bought this one right before packing it up & going off to Burningman a few months back.. took it out to the desert for it's maiden voyage. ^^
^^ That's one cool lookin' machine firecracker

Well i've driven that X5 (the one i posted a picture of in my last post) at 140 somewhere between Kiel and Hamburg, and i can tell you, while it feels stable purely because it weighs nearly two tonnes and the wheels are like barrels, i wouldn't want to push it too far.
If you watch one of the recent Topgears, Clarkson also talks about a Brabus Mercedes, saying that they replace a lot of external parts because they are only designed to tolerate speeds up to 155mph. That way Mercedes doesn't need to pointlessly over-engineer parts, saving costs. So that if you're going 175 and the bumper flies off, they can tell you, there's a limiter on there for a reason. I'm sure there are plenty of cars capable of and safe over 155 with no problems, but it's more of a warranty issue.
That is one badass minivan. Shame they don't sell them in the States.
They don't sell it in Singapore either. It was parallel imported.
