Improvements

The only possible way we could make this forum better is if you made me admin

Some slightly more sane suggestions:

- Downloads section (like on OSX-e) but A-S won't host the files (user has to provide thier own link - this will save AS a lot of bandwidth)

- Desktops thread should have a winner and thier desktop will be posted on the front page underneath the "recently posted threads" bit (as a thumbnail)

- Image Gallery? (might make it easier for posti g and finding icons)

That's all I can think of.

Wuzzie's ideas are the best ones I've heard all day. Yes, a Download section would be nice, would make things a lot more easier to find; however, we should try to find a way so that Aqua-Soft could host the files like on another server, so then people won't be bumping threads to say, "The links are dead, does anyone know another place where I can get it?"

However, making Wuzzie an admin will just ruin this place

Yeah, sure the site would be renamed to Wuzzie-Soft and we only allow spammers... Oh, and if you don't use firefox it loads your computrer with a virus that replaces every app with a program that shuts down your computer.

Hmm, how about, as i'd like to call them, "Hot Words"!

Say a thread, such as the screenshot thread, contains the words "...using AveDesk for widgets...". A simple enough script could wrap html link tags around the word "AveDesk" where it occurs in a page, linking to the AveDesk site. The links, and what words should be be linked, could be drawn from a database, and it is up to the author of the said theme/wallpaper/icon/program to submit the word and link to their work to the database with a little form.

Ok maybe it's a bit fanciful, but people would hardly need to even search

When people release downloads, how about an option on the form to enter that link into a database of downloads so that when people search for a particular download, you can have them all in one page?

I often have to search for ages to find a download, to which I also find that the link is broken.
