for some reason the black version is more expensive than the white one
:o
I like it thought, I can see myself sitting infront of a white macbook in 2 month time
I'm just waiting impatiently for them to be available in mass here hehe
I am plannig to buy a laptop. Let see this one from Apple, the price is not so huge 2k$.
Maybe you have a link to real movie or photos, i mean from life.
the black has 80GB hard drive ... thats all i found out, though it is probably possible to extend the hard drive of the white one as well ... but the default set of the black one goes with 80gig so that might be the reason
no even if you customize the white one by adding a 80gb hdd to it, it's still cheaper than the black one by $100
maybe the black coating is more expensive ![]()
I'd love a black one.... but they're too overpriced here....
it's getting harder to say no to switching... First Boot Camp, now great machines at affordable prices... Well, you people at Apple keep up the good job!!!
Personal experience: Switched four months ago and the smile is still in my face ![]()
i wonder if it suffers from microscratches like the ipod...
but isnt the batterylife just terrible?
"great machines"? hardly
the MacBook was going to be my first mac. i mean it.
but heck... look at this!
Glossy screen (and no option NOT to have a glossy screen)
Integrated video (come ON! even the previous gen iBook had a Radeon Mobility 9550!)
no PC card expansion
no Superdrive on the lowest-end model
for the same price as that MacBook i can get a DELL with a DVD burner... AND a Radeon X1300 128MB AND 1GB of RAM, instead of 512MB... not to mention a 15" screen with a higher res (1600x1050)...
heck... i'm going for the dell...
sorry Apple... you lost a swicher
sad to read your decission Menge ![]()
Of course you can get a dell but why would you like to get a not-glossy screen (the image quality is poorer)?
15" and a lot more weight and size...
It's hard to find any PC Card accesory that dosen't have an USB equivalent at (most of the times) a lower price.
I agree with you that integrating the video card is not a good move but it can't be perfect.
Anyway, everybody's free to buy whatever suits their needs better
some people have reported having problems with glare, bad reflection and such on glossy screen, unless you use it in complete darkness. Though I believe Apple are aware of that and they've managed to get around it.
nice, i know a friend who would love to get this. alas im still getting the pro version.
Sure you'll get reflections on a shiny surface, but haven't we worked with such reflections during years... Remember CRT monitors...

Which is why I prefer the matte finish of most LCDs. It's a personal preference thing. They should offer both.

muchos gradias... thats kinda weak battery life, no?
Typical Apple... overpriced shiney thing.
And I'll take a matte TFT display over a glossy one anyday.
When you stare at a screen all day long, the glossy stuff gets old real fast.
One more i don't know what is better 13 lcd with apple or 15,4 with other company.
It comes for the same price.
I'm opting for the smaller size... after carrying my 8lb 17" dell throughout school, i decided to go w/ the slimmer for graduate studies... atleast thats my excuse for buying a laptop at all... im yet to even apply for school again... lol
Now I'm kind of tied between this and the iMac. I love the look of this thing, and the portability is a kicker.
Any suggestions? I'm leaning towards the iMac 20" right now, with upped video memory. See, if I get the iMac I'm planning on it being my main computer. With the MacBook, it'll probably still be second to my Windows. :-
