Aqua-Soft ForumsSee, if we go to an open-ended, everyone-can-submit-news thing, it becomes a forum. People post news stories (topics) and people comment (reply). I personally think a news page is redundant. Everything is AT THIS WEBSITE, and if it's new, it's near the top of the wallpaper or icons or skins page. Heck, why not just have a running feed for each forum on the front page, showing the most recent topic titles and content, that way, people could see the most recent topics, the ones that are active, and see which are "new," hence "news."

the reason for news post is to weed out the ****ty stuff...
i think since newsposters do well the first week then get lazier and eventually disappear, a voting system is the best way [like i've been saying for a long time]
it could easily be integrated to each forum post and you could sort by #votes/date/etc..
Since this was bumped, I gotta go with Louie's opinion, this is by far the most well organized website, and the search actually gives you relevant results, like he said "Everything IS at this website".

There have been many times in which outside releases (from other sites, and well known artist's personal sites) have been posted on the Front Page. So your both liars.

Yes, this may be a forum, but 1 in 500 people actually use and actually know how to search. So there is no point. Not everyone is a forum addict and knows how to use say the "Todays Posts" / "New Posts" bit, it'd be nice if we could get some sort of news, once a day or once every other day, give people basic idea whats going on in the customizing world. Then have another bit for releases and what not.
I just need to figure out how to skin wordpress to the way I want, and we'll have a new page in no time.

I'm a recovering addict...and I am really not supposed to be hear. It's a violation of the 11 steps. What is this "Today's Posts" thing you're referring to? I know the "New Posts" because its got the big shiny icon up top...but not "Todays Posts"

There are quite a few different ways to search, like posts in the past hour, day, week, stuff like that, I'll add em when we upgrade the forums later.
