Where's the News?

Ah wait, I see, we have no Newsposters. That might be the problem Though i think that's not so different from how it was before... Well i guess that means i'm "fired". I'd like to apologise on behalf of the rest of the team of ex-newsposters for the laziness of some of us (myself particularly). Now to all those who want the coveted orange tag, await the newest Newsposter Application thread , and may you all serve A-S well.

P.S. If the removal of all newsposters was infact an error (which i doubt), please don't reinstate me. I'm not suited to it. Thank you.

I removed all the newsposters, 21 newsposters, and no one posted news. So we'll see what happens.

Actually, a digg-esque system would be great, with maybe a few "Newsposters" who do infact moderate the content of just the front page, not forum mods. So people can submit what they like and then that can all be collected at the end of the day by the Newsposter/Frontpage people to put on the front page.

It was Tim's decision. I'm going to take charge of news again and am in the process of making a new team. Tricky, if you're intereted, let me know.

Well, Timan did have a right, this is his establishment. I can understand why he would want this place to be updated as frequently as possible. I don't think he would mind newsposters missing a day - or - two on updates. But this kinda went on for weeks.

If we ever get newsposters again, i am interested in this job. If you are looking for a digg like application, i know of one similar one. It does not have the digg up feature, but it is quite good, nonetheless.

How about people who want to be a newsposter - contribute stories/news posts to a moderator/admin - and then they can post it. this way nobody gets to a be a token newsposter and you mods/admins can see whos keen on posting the news. After a few months you would get an idea whos doing the work and then make a decision based on that!

How does that sound?

BTW there hasn't been a news post in almost 2 weeks

I think thats how deviantart handles their news post. well at least they were doing that before.

Not sure about now though, they got too many people doing stuff now it seems.

well at least it was similar they had a few newsposters and all the newposter wannabes submited stuff to them.

the name of the newsposter and the wannabe's were on the page.

but this should help tremendously. althought in order to do this i think a new script should be implemented.

one where aqua-soft.org users can submit the news which splits them up into catagories. that way you can have different people posting the news for diferent items.

beause in the past when the news posts go up its sometimes hard to tell wallpaper release to icon releases.

but i dunno though maybe thats too much to be doing for this site.
