How does it compare in comparison the the speed of a MacBook Pro?
Mini looks cool, boombox looks cool to, but a bit of a waste of time. Don't think that's going to be a big seller.
And another typical Apple move.. the mini's are still overpriced considering what you get.
I'm a little behind, plz tell me this isn't the big apple news everyone was talkin about?
That whole idea of making the mini a budget PC was stupid, thank god that didnt go through with that rubish again, or even worse yet make it more afordable. And to put icing on the cake, educational discount is 20$.... 20$$$!!!!! Mad savings, thats like a 3%, no 3.3%!! discount!!!!!!!

My feelings exactly... overpriced crap.
Sure the dual core chip is nice, but the rest... eh... not impressed considering the price tag they put on it.
I just picked up a ThinkCentre M52 with a dual core CPU that will smoke the mini for $200 less.
Bigger drive, 4x the ram and it's expandable!
Has apple hit it's peak? Quick! Time to sell those shares before everyone realises

I'm disapointed with the GMA too 
if I'm not mistaking, this is the first Mac ever with intergrated graphic. It looks like the future intel iBook will have the same configs :mad: I hate intel and their GMA crap :mad:
It's not the first mac with integrated video (built-in, i.e., part of the motherboard)... all the laptops and even the iMacs have integrated video.
I just don't like the shared memory part... give the damn thing dedicated DDR2 memory and I'd be ok with it.

This is as half assed as it gets.
Slap a great CPU, add one more juicy RAM slot, make it really sweet with more USB ports and add FrontRow, then take one huge dump on it with Intel's crappy gfx chip and voile, you get a new Mac mini.
I would have swollowed the 2.5" HD but Intel's gfx, no way...
And they overpriced it too
I just hope we won't be seeing intel gfx on the iBooks

Dang, and I was getting ready to make a thread about my opinion that Apple is losing it's touch. This just further solidifies that. I hope they can turn this decline around soon.
@ Duyvan - Maybe Unbe was talking about a thin, plain-weave, semitransparent fabric of cotton, wool, or silk being added to a Mac? Maybe the packaging material?
Is that the reason you changed your sig, wizard? To signify Apple's declining standards?
I'll post real opinions later after I figure out what this is all about. Doesn't sound like good news, though.

Who here has a feeling that Apple will have another "One more thing..." event.
I liked what they done with mini... like adding 2 more USB and Gigabit ethernet and stuff.... but my feelings same as others for Intel GMA crappola ... offcourse GMA has been much better than those previous Extreme Graphics chippies, but I wudn't expect Apple to use them in Mac.. I mean cm'on.. isn't Intel processor is enough that you are putting graphic chipset (That too with shared memory.. ohh.. I'm gonna faint) !!
OK... don't ge tme wrong... the GMA 950 video is 10x better than the older stuff.. it's finaly DX10 certified and is a pretty decent video subsystem. Hell, it will even run the full Aero GUI in Vista now. The shared memory thing is my issue. This has been known to cause memory issues when you are slamming the hell out of ram with a mem intensive app like Photoshop.
They could have designed this a bit better. Specialy since they want this to compete with Media Center PCs.
i dont like the Ipod hifi. Seems like a waste of money
