Another Finder Clone...

I started working on this while back but could be bothered to finish it... if I get enough interest I will continue to finish it though..

So far its almost 1:1 with the origional finder... its re-sizable... at the moment is has a few shortcuts on the side which eventually will be entirely editable via a control panel (unless a VB programmer can help me with drag+drop controls and some custom controls....

One added benefit of the program is that it is extremely fast (fastest finder clone ive seen), will be completely skinnable and uses Windowblinds to skin its features....

Let me know if you guys want me to continue... i can put a screenshot or maybe a little beta upload on request!

Nope, the great idea is another thing all together.. this is just something I forgot to finish a while back! Although some coding help for this would be great aswell... although I dont seem to find many willing VB programmers on here

Ive been working a bit more on it but im having quite a bit of trouble with working with transparency in VB. Does anyone know much about making images transparent in VB or maybe using PNG files in VB? Any developers please help

Im very very happy with what ive got so far (have been working on it for about 10 hours straight... ) but I need a reference for images of finder, anyone know where I can FINDer them? hah... *cough*

Thought id give an update of things I have applied...

3 different view modes; list, icon and small icons

back and foward buttons (you wouldnt believe how hard it is to make a history from scratch!)

added the search bar (which will act as a URL bar unless people want otherwise)

right click menu like explorers

double click names in left hand menu to edit them

to do:

Make the left hand menu completely editable

find high quality images for buttons

work on transparency for left hand menu

link image files for skinning

added any other features people want (suggestions?)

wow. if u could make drag-n-drop capabilities on the left hand window ...

if you could make eject button for removable devices on tjhe left hand window, as for CDs, iPods, etc

A burn folder ...

And if you could make the "selcted" box of th icons -- the outline that appears when they are selcted -- like the Mac, that would all be sooo coool.

Perhaps post specific questions in the Developer's Hangout? I feel like the devs would pay more attention to questions if they were in there (i.e I'm not sure if herd only frequents the Dev/Ave Hangout nowadays.)
