me likes it, works like a charm, better than pb1

ok, DOS box can't be put in a tab.

Is this supposed to be like this, are there more programmes which can't be tabbed?

#364292

@Kage

I asked the same question and yes some window do not tab. I've not found many tho'. Winamp is one of them.

Might be worth starting a list of non-nubbing windows.

OK... here's a problem... when the window fades out, the whole window flickers and turns black, and only afterwards it fades out... however, i'm experiencing the same problem with glass2k and winroll transparency, but not with winFX's fade, or topdesk's options fade...

#364465

It's almost certianly due to the way these different programs go about fading a window. If I'm not mistaken (and please correct me if I'm wrong) I believe Glass2k, Winroll and Nubs directly changes the transparency of the actual window where as winFX and topdesk replace the window with a updating screenshot of the window. This allows them to smoothly fade the 'window' without the hiccup because it is an image as opposed to a window.

it would be nice if the text on the nub reflected the current state of the window. For example, if I drag Explorer off to the side to bring up a tab, whatever window explorer is opened at at that particular time will be the label for the nub, even though I may have subsequently navigated through explorer to a new window. In other words, if i drag the window when "My Documents" is up then that is what stays in the nub even if explorer is now at "My Computer." It would be nice if it "kept up" so to speak with the window. Same goes for tabs in Firefox. The nub displays only the tab that was focused when Firefox was dragged off and doesn't keep up with whatever FF tab is currently up. Thanks, though; it is a sweet app. Best.

Now i want to use the tabs very lightly, and i see that when rightclicking a tab, there are 3 options shown.

Perhaps you could get rid of this menu, and instead make it leftclick shows/hides the window (the program could alternate if it cant tell if the window is currently shown or not) and rightclick closes the tab and shows the window.

i dont want the tab always there, i want it to disappear when the window is shown, so i'd appreciate it if this functionality is added, so i can quickly remove/add tabs.

ok, thanks for sharing. Andrew hasn't responded for awhile hm.

Yeah I've been extremely busy. I added a few of the options that were requested, and I'm working on getting the page for the app updated, and a proper installer. Once that's all taken care of I'll be announcing 1.0.

Thanks for your continued interest :)

#369261

This is a mad app! Only just downloaded it today, after weeks of putting it off. Thanks :)

#369542

it's the base of my new desktop, thanks for the sweet app Andrew :)

#369618

Hi, first thank you this is a great App... Second, it is possible to have other themes (tabs) with add shadow? And, if it's possible to have some one in black color like Stefanka screenshot :)

Advance thank you

#369705

andrew you've got some serious skills!! Thanks for sharing this with us!!:D

#370877

One question, how do I change themes?

#374632

Blaze

You need to right click on the nub icon within the systray. You will get an options list. This is where you can change preferences and access the themes too.

Hope that helps

mps

#374653

Yeah I did that but I don't know what to do next after "Themes"

#374654

Select the theme you wish to use and hit OK. The tabs will change the theme immediately after.

#374714

Okay, I got it to work. One more question, how do I change the icons now of the tabs, they all look like the win xp "My Computer" icon.

#374754

is there a new version?

mine has expired

#374760

Stevie, thanks for letting me know. I'll release a new version this weekend.

blaze, Nubs uses the system icon (as best as it can guess) for each running application. ie. If you nubbed a firefox window, the firefox icon would show.

#374778

Aw darn, when I throw a folder in Nubs it shows that fugly icon :( Is there any way that there can be NO icon?

#374779

Nubs is still working for me after the expiry date.

I'm looking forwards to the new release with hopefully fixes?

#374793

yeah, it complained about the build being expired, then one or two day afterward it started working again ^_^

#374869

yeah same here, funny :)

#375249

Kage, fixed the bug you reported regarding hiding a window and then turning off the fading effect. Thanks for reporting that.

I probably wont have an installer ready to go (as this is going to be a 1.0 build :D) before tomorow, but I will definately be putting this out there for all tomorow (Monday, in the USA)
