Aqua-Soft Forumsi have just come on this site the other day & i must say how unhelpful everyone on here is!! i have just been browsing the posts & the amount that are locked with "check forums, use guides etc are unreal, the moderators seem to think they are gods!! one post a 13year old kid was asking for help & got told by someone that at 13 he was running a buiseness!! big deal!!sorry but as i say i have never come across such a bunch of self important people in my life, i would rather live in pc ignorance than to ask anyone on here for help, will advise anyone who asks about this site to give it a very wide berth !!! so thanks for nothing & you want to just sit back & have a look!! remember you were a ****ie once! miserable, unhelpful , self important idiots!

actually your right, i am generalising a bit, its the moderators mainly from browsing the forums,so apologies to the members
IMHO, this person has a point, in a way. the reason there are so many locked threads, etc is to keep order. I know this is hard to understand, having rules and order, but it makes things much easier for the "gods" (as you say). it usually because they are asking ignorant questions (which can usually be answered by searching), asking for ripped work, or not tagging threads. there are not insane rules, but yes they take some adjustment.

you are correct though, there are some egotictical (sp?) explitives on AS.
Well, venom2112 I'm not taking sides here, but moderators have to close threads that go against the rules, or threads that are useless (some people still don't search) etc.
Without moderators you could rename Aqua-Soft to Anarchy-Soft.
If you search, ask nicely, etc. I'm sure you will get answers.

You want a valid rant, post in the right forum, and contact an admin about the staff.
This should have been posted in the proper sub-forum and tagged appropriately. If you do not correct this in future posts you will receive a ban. Come on people, how hard is it to read the rules!?

You bring up a good point, but look at the other side of the coin. Many people who browse forums online just go there and start posting like they own the place. That's why there are specific rules here at Aqua-Soft, and that's why Mods have to enforce them the way they do.
It's someone's own fault if that person posts in the wrong place and gets their thread closed. Ignorance isn't an excuse - there are clearly stickied topics at the top of every page that say "RULES."
If you can't abide by the rules, then you shouldn't post. It's as simple as that. Granted, everyone makes mistakes, and it is true that some members can be overly blunt/mean in their responses.
Haha... it's good to see someone post a valid rant around here. And I have to agree- some of our members (and most of our moderators) do seem to have a god complex here on the forums.
i had thought it would be closed...
maybe the mod's are gods, dictators or whatever. but every system has rules. so this one. you have accepted it when you created an account. and if you don't respect these rules punishment is a logic result. this system is a bit law and order, take it or leave it.
and real life is much harder

I thought only self important idiots didn't follow forum guidelines? Anyhow, who gives a **** if some, or one, mod(s) are *****es? If you follow the rules they wont have to be.
But I will admit sometimes they even piss me off just by their attitude towards some people, but it is the interent...

I also remember having the physical and mental capacity to search and read and take the time to learn on my own before asking questions that common sense told me were probably already answered.

Do people really think that a board on "Mac GUI Emulation" maybe, just maybe, could already have a thread or two about obvious topics such as this? It's your own fault if you get yelled at after spending 0 effort helping yourself before asking others for help.
I once thought it was common sense to look around a board for awhile before jumping in and posting. Find out how the boards works and such. Obviously, I now know that I was wrong. On a different board, I waited almost a year before asking for help. Why? Because all questions I had before that post were already answered. How did I know that? Bescause I SEARCHED and READ the pre-existing information that members had already worked to compile in the forums.
Instead of complaining, just follow the rules when you are told to do so.

IMHO, unbe just gets pissed when new peoples don't tag threads or search before posting. which i can understand, because it makes his/her "job" much harder. when i rejoined the community I dispised (sp) unbe like most new peoples, but i learned to respect his wishes and authorit-I , because it makes this community better.
You have to look at it from the other side sometimes.... If you were here 2-3 times a day, every day and all you saw were the same posts over and over again - you too would soon loose patience with lazy people not using their common sense. This forum is VERY well moderated concidering the amount of members it has. The promoting of NC means that it takes the pressure of Pe8er and Unbe a little.
I don't like any of them as much as the next guy (I am joking!!!) - but they do a bang up job and this site wouldn't still be standing after all these years without their hard work.
There are alot of people on this site that do a great deal of support and help out ****'s as much as possible - don't look upon the few negative posts and enjoy the huge amount of work put in by developers and designers solely for this site.
It's not entirely the fault of the moderators. They do a good job for the most part. My observation is that the fault lies with members who have been a part of the forums for a short while and post comments like "Search the forums you n3wb" or "You're gonna get banned b!tch". I have seen comments like this way too often on this site. Such appalling behaviour more than justifies the presence of this thread and the thread author's observation. If I were a new visitor to this site, I would hate signing up to be a member. Action must be taken by the staff to curb this unruly behaviour among Aqua-Soft's members.

Yes it may be shocking at first glance. But once you dig a little deeper you will understand it. Please read Board Rules and check with closed topics. We're being strict because this community is very large and we have to keep a finger on the pulse. Believe me - I've been here longer than you and I've seen what happens to this place when anarchy enters.
We're merely trying to keep AS alive and kicking, that's all.

This is plain rude. Despite that this topic is in Comments & Suggestions subforum, it should be locked and you should be suspended. You broke a rule - it's simple as that.

Being a new member doesn't give anyone an excuse for not following or reading the rules. Most of it is just common sense, but if you don't even have that, I'm amazing you even navigated to the internet.
As for the mods being "Holier-than-thou", that's completely untrue. I've only thought that about one mod (unbe, of course) but I soon realized that he was just doing his job as a moderator.
You need to contribute something to the community in order to just ask for everything ("Give, and you shall receive").
I remember by the 6th thread I started I had released Blurred Lights and after that, the (now removed) Hula Girl widget.
I also think it's very appropriate that you, having just joined in the last 9 days, are posting a topic like this. Because you know more about it then everyone else, right? At least it would be understood if someone like, say, Nightcrawler, GhostWalker, or herd made a topic like this, because at least they contribute and have been here long enough to know the facts.
If you don't like the community, go to Neowin, or something like that. We won't miss one member that just likes to insult us.
