Like I said, all that power is wasted for desktop use anyway, but since we were arguing about video games, I figured Id get my spiel out.

Yes, true much of the CPU is used to run the desktop animations and such, but if you dont care about any of that, and would rather save every last ounce of cpu usage, then go with OS 9. OS 9 has none of the animation stuff that the new OS 10 does now.

Plus, I think the desktop animations are shut down when an application is running in full screen. So, I dont think any cpu power is wasted in that case. Not positive though.

Hey Sorry I'm a **** here and was roaming around looking at some of the apps and stuff you guys have put together and everything looks really sweet Great job guys!

But Jmitch I'm not trying to flame bait you here at all but there are some issues you seem a little off on first of all dev on Apple isn't all that hot at the moment mostly because of the speed of the compiling. J2EE on OSX isn't pretty (it was a painful crawl on the system I tried it out on but I will say it was an iMac and not a tricked out G4) maybe they will improve it in the future gcc is great though I will give it that but I do a lot of java work and I prefer to go back to my PC for it...

Your comments about MS stealing Windows ideas from Apple? Well Apple originally ripped off the ideas "they had" from Xerox PARC so it all seems a bit redundant to me to be accusing anyone of theft to say the least.

Oh and by the way I CAN open .rsrc files in windows... (Ok I admit I have to rename the extension as rsc first)

Sorry as an addendum I do admit to loving my mac and I love my PC I just use them each for different purposes (Oh and another snippet I remembered there is an OSX build compiled for i386 systems but it will never see the light of day... )

Let's not forget that OS X had no native support for cd-burning or dvds.

t'was included in future upgrades. And BTW how many up(dates\grades) have

been released since os x?

Also what's the agp speed for macs?

pcs are at 8x now.
