Do you celebrate Christmas?

This is just an out-of-interest thing. You don't need to vote if you don't want to.

Personally, I celebrate christmas, but I am athiest. I usually set up a tree and decorate it, give & recieve gifts etc, but no relegious ceremonies, rituals, etc.

How do you celebrate christmas/what do you celebrate?

PS: Sorry about the christian/chatholic thing, I can not name enough similar religions off the top of my head.

The christian/chatholic is meaning a religion that evolved from judaism and believes in jesus christ.

#341421

Agnostic... celebrate Christmas in the gift sense only. No decorations anymore because my family is lazy.

#341423

poop on god - but yeah i do celebrate it - good time to spoil my gf :)

#341426

Yes, but xmas is kinda weird here in Australia. Imagine you're celebrating xmas in the middle of summer when it's like 100F outside

#341427

What do you use for trees there? Palms ;)?

So there's fireworks involved in your christmas festivitas? That's just crazy, but cool. I thought that was a New Year's Eve thing. I'm hoping for a good old snowy christmas here in Denmark.

yes, am athiest. i celebrate the more secular aspect of christmas. we put up several santa idols around the house, have a tree, all that good stuff. :x i live in miami, florida btw, and not having it be cold around this time of year can be a bit of a drag. but at least i can look forward to the adorable Corona beer commercials where the palm tree lights up XD.

#341440

Yes I do, I am Greek Orthodox.

What happened to the board? Looks sooo much cleaner but takes up a lot of space. =x

#341442

I'm athiest and celebrate christmas. :)

What can I say? I'm a sucker for the presents.

#341454

Atheist here too, and I celebrate Christmas with my family, who all celebrate Christmas. What can I say? I don't want to be left out of the gifting that badly ;)

#341460

Edit: whoops my bad.

Ah, stupid, ignorant americans. :P What makes you think we don't have christmas trees? Besides, it would be WAY harder to maintain a palm farm that a christmas tree farm.

Christmas in Australia isn't all that much different to any other county's.

We have christmas trees. We give gifts. In melbourne there is a Carols by Candlelight event - it is mainly music put on by popular groups/singers, etc.

Major differences - It's summer, and as for foos generally we have barbeques outside, etc.

Sorry If I've offended you... :slant:

Yes - I am Athiest

My Christmas won't be all that sexy though, I've got an all-day Art exam the first day back.

This post kinda breaks a rule, about discussion on religion and stuff.

I'll leave it up if people get along.

Since it is christmas... who's getting timmy a present? :D

#341641

I am a borderline Agnostic/Atheist (really depends on how much I want to piss people off). I don't want to celebrate Christmas, but my family always includes me.

#341644

Im agnostic and i celebrate christmas, but i dont do the decorations or anything like that just exchange presents and enjoy the holiday spirit. its just a time in the year where people are nice to you, or atleast trys to be nice. oh and did i mention the presents.

Atheist = does not beleive in god.

Athiest = does not believe in god most.

Interesting poll + results. I'm agnostic/deist depending on mood and celebrate christmas.

P.S: Not Christian, so I don't celebrate Christmas. You could probably figure out what I am...

#341934

I'm Atheist while my family is catholic, I really don't care about the religious part of Chirstmas, although like Seph said, Christmas for me is more about humanity and care for other people.

BTW: does nobody celebrate Festivus :D?

I've thought about it. I think I will try it one year, but only if Aquiday fails. ;)
