Weather Docklet - By Albiek

Great docklet...one minor annoyance

I have the dock set to launch when I log into my settings...problem is the weather docklet tries to launch my connection manager before the dock opens. what if i don't want to be on line? Is there a way to make it only check when I'm on-line?

Xenith: currently no; i am working (adding that feature) for the next release.

Jalea: (Santiago, Chile) should work fine. Make sure you don't add the quotes (") .. so it should look like:

Santiago, Chile

Your docklet is wicked cool Albiek. I am watching the weather now and outside from work and have an semi-accurate gauge of the conditions outside. I think we are all eagerly anticipating the next release!

An option to change the temp color would be cool. Or have it use Y's text settings. I would bet psikadelik is from New England. :rule: "Wicked Cool" :D

Good guess.. But its from exposure to my Bostonian friends. One of my best friends here plus the girl i last dated are from Boston. I'm in sunny Austin, Texas! I can't wait to see what functions Albiek adds to the weather docklet. It is really cool already!

albeik,

the docklet has been working fine for me until now

now, the docklet says N/A and has the ? icon

help please

#31322

all of the weather functions have not yet been implemented, it says n/a because the icon is not yet been programmed, albeik should have it done in the next version

Awesome plugin. No problems here. Can't wait for the next release.

albeik,

Maybe for next version, the weather app actually is an active icon. Where on rainy days you see the rain drops falling slowly from the cloud, and on lightning days the lightning combines with the rain to show a nice effect in real time.

Snow days snow flakes fall, etc...

keep up the good work, mine work perfect.

2-Jalea:

I think he may have to enter the link in the program that checks for cities in South America

http://espanol.weather.com/weather/local/CIXX0020

Would this be too hard to do ? or not possible ?

Clicking on the Mailcheck icon would pop-up a Window similar to Messenger checkng the e-mail. Maybe it could be also adopted for weather-check with 5 day forecast.

Penny for your thoughts.

VideoMann...I think you meant for that to be in the Mailcheck thread...

VideoMann, I modify the dll to link to any locations :D. The only drawback that only show in F... I do that because for a weird reason cant link to my city...

and you have to use their (whather.com) form instead of city, country form.

looks like this

I think docklets concern the apperance of the icon and its label only, not the program they start when being clicked.

That way, the development of a pop-up menu for a 5 day forecast or for a mail checker would be a different thing than depicting some similar info inside the docklet. Shouldn't be too hard to do.

Have a nice day!
