IE or FF?

Internet Explorer or FireFox?

#329609

This poll is fairly easy to answer. Y'know what I'll choose ;)

#329610

Spinach or chocolate? (in that order)

#329612

Why is it you even need to ask?

#329621

this is a no brainer

At these kinds of forums, most people will use Firefox.

I've yet to meet an experienced, knowledgable computer user who prefers IE over the alternatives--though many, such as those in IT professions, use Internet Explorer anyway.

Other ... Safari in my case.

#329632

are you asking because you don't know which is best? or just for something to do?

I only ever use i.e. when im on a computer that doesn't have an alternative... as most people who have any internet experience will say to you, i.e. is microsofts inbuilt virus capturing technology.

Until i.e. has decent pop-up blockage, doesn't attract infections and has good tabbing... I will continue to use anything but it.

I find the regular Firefox release to be extremly slow to load and render- compared to Opera it is even more noticealbe since I moved to ADSL. I kinda fixed that problem by using one of the optimised community builds so now the lag is less apparent.

What I do love about Firefox is the heap of invaluable extensions that it has- esp. Adblock and my Net Usage Item.

You guys that are using ie (still a majority of the visitors here), need to switch.

I know you guys view the site from schools, work, and friends houses, but in future versions of the site you will not get the true experience of this site using IE. I will not support ie for the fancy stuff I plan on adding in the future.

For slow loading try d/ling the firefox preloader, just google it. :)

my choise (since 2002):

c: Opera!

Why? Well, because

- it's fast

- it's free (finally)

- it's fully customizable

- it has 95 % of the Firefox Extensions allready build in

- it's available for every OS (Win, Solaris, OS/2, Mac, Linux...)

- it doesn't need anything like "FF SpeedUp" Tool etc. to run fast

- ...

- ...

#329654

ie is always faster :P

#329655

Opera for sure :)

#329663

i should get firefox but i am to lazy :-)

#329664

Updated Poll, added opera, it deserves a spot up there, nice browser that works CORRECTLY in all operating systems, can't say the same for firefox lol.

#329667

i've been using opera since version 6. i tried to get used to firefox because of nicer skins but i'd just spend a few hours trying to get it to do what opera does out of the box, and i always gave up.

i recommend firefox to everybody though, because it's easier to switch to from IE, and we need as many converts as we can get :)

I don't really want to have to have firefox sitting idle in memory just to get it to load a bit faster when there are alternates (opera and IE both load way faster on my computer) that do it without an extension.

But just wondering does this work with 1.5 RC1?

If I could I would switch to Opera totally but I've invested too much effort into getting firefox working the way I want it to bother changing now.

#329682

I use both IE and FF... depends on the site and what I need to do.

Some stuff only works in IE, Active-X for example and we use a ton of it here at work on our internal systems.

I use FF when I come here, so PNG's get displayed properly... that will change with IE7 though, so who knows.

#329721

internet explorer is still a lot more widely used in every part of the world than firefox.

I prefer firefox, but it's just so slow and non-responsive.

#329741

Opera, of course :)

#329744

Safari.

Duh.

#329764

Oh man Opera really sucks... FF, nothin' else.

#329783

you, sir, are a troll!

#329800

Firefox, I love Safari though
