Thanks.
But I forgot to mention I need the ones from iTunes 6. Are those screenshots from iTunes 5 or 6?
Edit: nevermind, the LCD is not glossy so it's iTunes 6.
Thanks.

I have to say I think some people in this thread are jumping off the handle. The guy was simply asking whether there was a 1:1 iTunes skin; he was incorrect in posting a iTunes 4 screenie but when pointed out he actually apologised and still people carried on telling him he was wrong. Did they simply not read his post properly? As for the screenshot above, to me it seems clear that the Mac iTunes does have smoother right angled corners but I'm thinking this could be down to support for alpha blending by the OS but I'm probably mistaken. I remember reading a discussion about acheiving perfectly smooth corners; limited to start menu, with a recent Windowsblind's release that was not possible in the past. Anyway, if I'm mistaken I am more than happy to be corrected.
Thanks for sticking up for me man. To answer your question, it is possible to have corners look almost exactly like that in Win -despite- the fact that the bordering pixels on Mac are alpha blended. It does require a lot of effort by the skinner though,
as:
1. Usually bordering pixels that look fine on say a dark background completely look awful on a bright one, and vice versa.
2. The trade off that should be made by a skinner is to work on 2 app source Mac images that are of the app against a pure white background and against a very dark background. An intermediate colouring of the bordering pixels for Win should be made with an aggregate of the 2, with a slight weighting in favour of the pixel colour against the darker. (A pure white background in common use is rare).
But again it takes an expert skinner with a lot of time on his hands. For a good example of what I mean look at the old TD4 Panther skin by Three Drives. There are so many Win limitations that have been wonderfully overcome in that theme. Or look at the old MSN aqua skin, with the bright red and blue systray states.
For an example look at this corner from td4. On an "average" background it looks perfect.

On a pure white background you can see the clever "deception".

Or the blueish drop shadow on button fonts in an attempt to create an intermediate font size / font weighting to emulate Mac as closely as possible.

I tried (and I'm no expert) modifying the itunes skin, but it didn't work as the algorythm is not wysiwyg, there are different stretches and tear patterns going on that I didn't have time to figure out.
i have an idea for a skin.. how about itunes 4 for itunes 6?
I'd rather stick with the UI it has right now, brushed is so old now and should be removed from finder in the next OS Apple releases ![]()
Do not double post. I will delete double posts next time.

Sigh.
I actually had problems in my browser where it wouldn't post beyond a certain word count before crashing the page with a "not responding".
The first time it happened I had the whole post typed up it gave me a "not responding". I had to use currprocess to do a hex dump (~78mb .txt file) of iexplore.exe and try and salvage my post by weeding through 40,000 pages (78mb) of

In case the information might be useful to a skinner here.
Following that I tried to reply and edit the post sentence by sentence adding more and more characters, and having to keep starting fresh when it would crash. Just in order to prevent breaking the post into two posts. Unfortunately my messed up browser would not allow more characters than that and I had to break the post into 2.
My apologies for doing this.
Unbeliever, I have completely had enough of your fascist attitude and I am confident that it will be much to your delight that I've decided to stop posting at aqua-soft.
Your welcome.
PS: When did Tal, Duckie & Timan let the quality of moderation drop so low in this place?
Without trying to sounds like an ass - cry me a river :slant:
I've got more than my hands full trying to mod this community and just don't care about people threatening to leave.
You're a stupid and a disgrace to all the members here and I'll explain why. Unbe is not fascist and you've been acting completely annoying from the beggining of this thread that shouldn't have existed in the first placePS: When did Tal, Duckie & Timan let the quality of moderation drop so low in this place?

well i guess there would be no point in skinning at all then!
it was just a mere suggestion. not everyone needs to like it or use it.

We can't do brushed backgrounds anyway - the background now basically consists of a 2px-wide image stretched across the entire interface.
@Codex: Your browser input problems sound suspiciously like keylogger activity. I'd check for any spyware/malware, just to be safe. Also keep an eye out for process that are eating up lots of cpu/memory while IE is open.I actually had problems in my browser where it wouldn't post beyond a certain word count before crashing the page with a "not responding".
wow - I'm shocked at the immaturity from all sides here....and I'm not naming names - it'd take too long to go back through the thread and collect them. =P
As far as it goes, however, I think this thread is very confusing, and mostly unhelpful. Perhaps whatever good stuff in it should be left, and everything else taken out and the thread locked. That way it can survive as a reference, but hopefully not be so infernally confusing...

Come on, "Harassing newbs since 2003!"? I thought it was part of his charm!![]()
Codex I appreciate what your saying, so alpha blending can be emulated well but will still be limited because of lack of native support. I guess we will have to live with the corners we have to give the best appearence on a wide variety of desktops.
At least out of all this arguing on this thread, localhost was able to get some high quality images, so that he can make the Windows version look closer to the Mac version.
keep up the good work localhost!!
OK, ok we get it.
I'm a facist (when did that happen?), i harass people without a reason, yada, yada, yada...
Let's close this thread shall we?
