Multi-Plugin 2.2 For iTunes 6

This is a cool plugin, but I wanted to let you know of a bug.

The Winamp compatibility isn't working correctly. When I have the title text set to

"1. %Artist - %Name - iTunes"

The title bar for the hidden window that copies the Winamp class (according to MS Spy++) only has the title

"1. Artist - Title"

(Note that nothing shows up after the title)

Where is the bug here? that's how it makes programs recognize iTunes as winamp. If I change the titlebar of the fake winamp window, programs won't recognize it anymore.

Oops, I thought that it was supposed to change the winamp title based on the iTunes window title. So i guess that isn't a bug.

However, it still isn't emulating Winamp correctly.

The Winamp window follows the format:

#. Artist - Title - Winamp

If you forget the "- Winamp" at the it doesn't parse correctly for programs that are used to the real winamp.

Thanks for pointing that out. That's probably the reason Messenger Plus! doesn't recognize it :)

Hi,

I'm using Itunes 6.0.1.3. I installed Multi-plugin 2.2 but cannot see how to use, there fore I don't know if it installed at all. No taqb appears in my preferences window. I've disabled all dock uses of I tunes, as well as Avedesk.

Can anyone suggest where I'm going wrong?

cheers,

Asaf

Worked fine for me. Here is how I did mine.

I completely removed iTunes 5, and when I downloaded 6, it would tell me I had Quicktime 7.0.2 and it required 7.0.3. So I managed to find 7.0.3 as a seperate download, because for some strange reason, the one that came with iTunes just wasn't good enough.

After I was done with 7.0.3, I reinstalled iTunes 6, and it runs. After that, I simply ran the Installer for Multi Plugin 2.2 and selected to have setup dump the settings. After it installed, I simply just ran iTunes, and it works. The skin automatically starts up. I don't understand why you are having such problems. :slant:

#329466

qda - that's a known bug. It will be fixed in the next version.

RhumbUs - are you sure the installation completed successfully? maybe it ended with an error and you didn't notice.

Does your iTunes look like before, or is it skinned?

i love multi-plugin, but ...

i also love the whitecap visualizer from soundspectrum.

with multi-plugin 2.2 installed on iTunes 6.01 (windows server 2003 sp1 and windows xp sp2) the whitecap visualizer cannot be activated from multi-plugin's menu button when using the mac-os skins. choosing it in the menu *seems* to work, but it dosen't actually get selected and only the iTunes visualizer display ...

however, when using the default skin it is selectable - and stays selected when switching back to the mac-os skin.

thought you should know, localhost.

First thanks for you plugin, localhost, I like it a lot!

Please let me give you some suggestions for the follfowing releases of your plugin:

-Why not making it working for restricted users, after installation? Now I have to grand my users write-access to the iTunes-folder, which is somewhat unsatisfactory. Or is there a workaround?

-Would it be possible to include an library-updater into Multiplugin (like iTunes Library Updater)

And last but not least I might have found a bug:

I use iTunes 6.0.1.8 on WinXPSP2 together with MultiPlugin 2.2 as restricted user with deactivated iPodService. In case of activation of the iTunes-Switch-Interface in the taskbar, the programm closes properly, but for maybe 30sec after closing the whole taskbar seems frozen - no quickstart button would work. In addition to that a "half" taskbar-window remains for a while within the taskbar. I fear it has something to do with the restricted user problem. Does anybody have an idea how to solve this?

Thanks in advance!

Ok, what am i doing wrong, i completely uninstalled Itunes, then installed the newest Itunes again, then installed the multi-plugin. It shows up on the Itunes preferences but i am not able to enable the foobar pass-through because it either complains about "access privileges" or "foobar is not installed" my foobar is the 8.0.3 special edition and it is installed in the default directory c:program filesfoobar2000.

This is the error message i get after checking the foobar pass-through and hitting OK button:

error1do.jpg

And yes, my account is part of the administrator group so...

I tried to run itunes as "administrator" and i get the same error plus this:

error24xx.jpg

update: ok i got it fixed, the problem was, that i have two cards, and wanted to use the secondary card with asio(not the default playback) for the foobar/itunes...i had to switch the asio card to primary for the multi-plugin to "remember" the settings, after that i was able to switch it back to the secondary and it still uses it fine. Huh that was strange :)

#332142

Not sure if it's even been touched on before but is there nayway to get multiplugin to force foobar passthrough for network shared music?

#332400

i just downloaded itunes 6.0.1 and MP 2.2 doesnt work with it for me. ive uninstalled and installed both itunes adn MP many times each. all that happens is that itunes runs in the processes list but onthin happens, the tray icon doesnt show up or anything and i cant end the process. the only way to stop it is to manually shut of my comp because it messes with the shut down process. is there somehting im doin wrong, or is anyone else havin this problem

Each time you uninstall windows/mplugin and reinstall them, do you start iTunes after you install it but before you install mplugin? I find that when I install iTunes, I need to run it without mplugin first and agree to the license agreement and THEN I can install mplugin just fine.

In other words: uninstall both, install iTunes, run it and agree to the agreement. When you get to the library, close iTunes and install mplugin.

I had the same message box a while ago and I found out that itunes had completely medded up the permissions on it's registry entries. It wouldn't even uninstall properly and I had to go through the registry and manually change the permissions on a couple dozen entries.

I have the same problem. 5G iPod w/video, iTunes 6.0.1.3, after about 5 minutes or so of syncing, maybe 200-300 songs, everything with the sync goes *kspltzy*

#333802

i'm on a 5g video too.

#334149

Well I don't have a 5G iPod to test it.

I'd like to buy one, but I need to sell my 20GB 4G first.

Upon checking the Foobar2000 Passthrough box I continue to get this warning window:

Foobar2000 is not installed.

The Foobar2000 Passthrough option will not be enabled.

I'm running iTunes 6.0.1.3 on a WinXP SP2 box as administrator, and Foobar2000 v0.8.3 is succesfully installed to the default 'C:Program FilesFoobar' location.

Two questions I can think of:

1. Is it necessary to first set default audio file associations to Foobar2000?

2. Where is Multi-Plugin 2.2 programmed to 'see' whether Foobar2000 is installed?

#334322

1. No.

2. The InstallDir value in HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwarefoobar2000. it should point to "C:Program FilesFoobar" or similiar.

#334338

1. No.

2. The InstallDir value in HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwarefoobar2000. it should point to "C:Program FilesFoobar" or similiar.

Thanks. I downloaded the foobar2000 special installer and a reinstall set the proper registry links.

Only major problem for me though is when using foobar2000 pass-through I have not been able to utilize ASIO or Kernel Streaming, although waveOut and DirectSound work. When ASIO/KS is employed initializing play iTunes will lock up until a foobar issued failure reports pops up on screen. Both ASIO/KS work bit-perfectly within foobar2000 using either 24bit-padded to 32bit or 32bit outright.

#334644

How do I get rid of the plugin as it is ruining my listening experience
