Multi-Plugin 2.2 For iTunes 6

I've been having pacifica333's same problem. I'm about to try and uninstall MP and see if that changes anything.

I have 4983 Songs total. When I update my iPod it always crashes my computer at around 300 something.

I always get this error: STOP 0x000000EA THREAD_STUCK_IN_DEVICE_DRIVER, which can be talked about in http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?...b;EN-US;q293078.

I'm guessing MP is causing my Video card to lag horribly, thus restarting my computer.

This is a fairly common issue, and I'm not sure how you avoided it, but it goes something like this...

You plug in your iPod (5G), iTunes begins updating, after a short while, iTunes freezes, and your iPod is messed up. You then have to restore your iPod, uninstall mPlugin, and update.

I've had a 5g ipod for over a month, and thats never happened to me..

I bought by 5g 30gb in October and have never experienced that. I have ~3200 songs on my ipod and about 50 pictures.

I found a way of making any keyboard work with the media keys, but it takes a little bit of work (you can't just switch a setting--although you might want to try that first).

1) Download the iTunes remote (also from localhost):

2) Unzip the rar file (7-zip works well) and put the executables in a folder of your choice.

3) Go to your keyboard's setting screen, choose to set a custom program for the play/pause button, and choose the corresponding executable you just extracted.

4) Repeat for the other buttons

5) Disable media key fix in multi-plugin

6) Have fun using your keyboard!

This method worked for me when my media keys were acting all weird. Although it takes a little effort, it's almost guaranteed to work. Good luck!

Could someone help me? I'm new at this. I downloaded this, but it just went straight to my (Mac) desktop and had an icon like a blank page with the top right corner folded over. When I tried to open it, it said it didn't know what application to open it with. I tried opening it with iTunes (I have 6.0.3), but that didn't work. Can someone help?

Probably the multi-plugin doesn't work for 6.0.3 now, you'll have to wait for localhost to update the multi-plugin as well.

EDIT:

O geez, I see that you say "your MAC" as in Macintosh, right? The multi-plugin is for windows only...

MultiPlugin isn't for Mac, so that's why it isn't working.

iTunes with mplugin crashes for me when updating the photos on my iPod (that was with 6.02 and my "Dr.Mingw" debugger reported that it crashes in mplugin.dll)

Uninstalled mplugin and it worked fine.

I have to admit, that's pretty weird...

What version of iTunes do you have?

Also, make sure you don't have the mediakeys plugin (different from multiplugin) installed, and make sure that you don't have "Fix media keys functionality" enabled in MP preferences. Just to make sure that multiplugin isn't causing the issue, try uninstalling it (temporarilly).

What's strange about your particular issue is that it sometimes works. That means that there are two possible causes:

1) The iTunes remote wasn't set up correctly (double check that your keyboard is using the itunes remote files)

2) Something is wrong with the iTunes API. An old version of iTunes could cause this (but that's unlikely because the iTunes remote was written a long time ago). Also, multi-plugin or another plugin could cause this. Try reinstalling iTunes and/or upgrading to the newest version (6.0.3).
