[release] Multi-Plugin 2.0 Beta Refresh

Changes:

1. Installer updated for iTunes 5.0.1. Of course it won't work with the original iTunes 5.

2. Optional menu button on the titlebar.

3. The skinning issue has been fixed. the background is now skinnable without any workaround.

4. A couple of new elements in the skin folders. Skin developers can now changed the border color/width, and remove it completely by deleting the Border_Left and Border_Right images.

5. Added a skin with a border. The border is ugly as hell, but I couldn't do better :P

This version is better and may be distributed, but if you post it somewhere, post it as "Multi-Plugin 2.0 Beta", so people will at least know it might be unstable.

Update:

The link has been updated with a slightly improved version. The skin format has been changed a little to allow skinning the mini mode background and maximized window properly.

Oh yes! Yes! Thanks! Can't wait for the final release! Good job!

#317531

Man... you are nothing less than god... Can't imagine using iTunes without mPlugin. I can say that cause just a day I ran iTunes 5.0.1 without mPlugin, and I started loosing interest. :)

thanks i have only just written a thread requesting the old version of itunes but my thread has vanished but luckily this turned up thanks localhost much appreciated

#317534

localhost, why are you so Great? really, i'm asking in awe. why are you so damned Great?

#317535

Had a bad day: had to uninstall iTunes 5.1 and reinstall v5 along with the older version of MP2. (Not to mention I scared myself after the thought of losing 10 GB worth of songs during the uninstallation process...) Guess it's not really a bad day after all. Thanks!

you can use the "Hide the menu" option to hide the menu button. You can still use the menu with Alt+F.

btw thanks for all the good comments guys :D

#317545

awesome, thanks alot localhost. Was wondering if its possible to change the font colors for like the Tabs such as "Name, Time, Artist, etc"

#317546

right, i knowi can hide it that way, but i was refferring to a function where you can still click the title bar next to the close button, and still have access to the menu, rather than, or in addition to using alt+f

#317553

superb, thank you :)

#317562

Thanks for the update. :)

Does the mini player in OS X have borders also? If not it would be nice if the skin was updated to match.

#317565

I do really like the new menu option! Very good solution :)

Everything's fine with the new mPlugin but 1 thing was strange to me:

When I started iTunes first after installing the mPlugin, I wasn't able to drag the iTunes window around. After switching some settings in the preferences everything's fine now.

Thanks for your great job :)

#317567

I don't know if it is iTunes 5.0.1 or the new MPlugin...

But when I drag a folder of songs into the playlist panel(the left side one), it prompts me the drive containing the iTunes library file is running out of space.

The point is that I am sure that I unchecked the "Copy Files to the iTunes Music Folder" in the preference panel, so it should not copy the actual song files.

Is it a MP bug? Or perhaps an iTunes bug?

EDITED

It is an iTunes bug!

If you check the "Copy Files..." box, iTunes will not try to copy these song files.

Sorry about my English.

localhost rocks! Cheer!

im running itunes 5.0 + multi-plugin 0.68 w/ mutli-plugin 2.0 dll. how best do you advise going about upgrading to itunes 5.0.1 + multi-plugin 2.0 beta? should i uninstall multi-plugin before upgrading to itunes 5.0.1? thanks.

It is not a bug. It is a function that is easy to understand and calling a bug something it isn't is ignorant.

#317582

Ooh... a new version... sweet!

Time to start working on a new skin then...

Thanks localhost!

#317585

This is amazing! I've only just upgraded to iTunes 5 all cos I've been waiting for this and it is damn awesome! Well done as always dude!

#317589

Yay!

Thanks for all your work :)

#317606

Works perfectly ! Thanks for the update ! Added my mirror here.

#317631

Thanks for the plugin Localhost!! :) works like a charm after a fresh install of itunes.

For those who want the menu but want it hidden just copy this into "C:Program FilesiTunesSkinsMac OSX5.x.x.x" then dublicate it to Menu_Button_Normal.bmp & Menu_Button_Over.bmp

#317664

very nice tonicX. thank you ;)

maybe localhost can add this as a function?

#317669

hmm i did what you said tonicX but the menu still appears except when i click the menu button. was i supposed to delete Menu_Button_Normal.bmp & Menu_Button_Over.bmp and copy only menu_button_down.bmp instead?

#317873

i think thats pretty obvious if you look at the file names, or view them beforehand

#317876

You need to duplicate the same file and then rename them to 3 different files. So you should have "menu_button_down/normal/over.bmp" but they are all exactly the same.
