What the hell? Jesus Christ didn't write the Bible, for one, nor does he hold any relevant copyrights. Don't introduce unrelated topics, especially ones even loosely tied to religion.

Okay, then imagine any book that was written in a language foreign to you; if everybody you knew that understood that language told you that it was an AMAZING book... wouldn't you want to read it? And wouldn't a writer want everyone to read it, regardless of language?
But if I was the author, and someone did a really lousy translation, that didn't reflect the work I'd put into the book, I wouldn't want my name attached anywhere on it.
But it does in some way "reflect" the work, even if it isn't perfect.
But the thing is, your name isn't totally attachedSomeone might say, "WOW! That is a piece of trash. I hope the original looks better than this port :S" He/she looks at the original, and there's the real work. The original is admired, but the port is noted as ugly.
