for me too it didn't change the stuff EACH time but, for extracting from zip, adding to dock something and other case it works just fine.
Otherwise, for example copying from one HD to an other or from a folder to the desktop it's not working that's why i keep searchin' ![]()
you gotta replace them throw dllcache.
how?
- close explorer
- then in the (task manager menu bar) file>open> - browse for the new file you want
- copy it and DO NOT close the browsing window
- go to dllcache folder (a hidden folder and a system folder as well, make sue you enabled those features first)
- PASTE the file you had, over there - and still, DO NOT close the browsing window
- go to system32 and Paste ole32.dll there AS WELL.
in that point it should give you a message to insert xp's CD, obviously just keep overwriting on the old ugly file and you can finaly enjoy the osx cursors forever.
:order:
erm...i'm sorry to disagree but it's been a while that my dllcache folder hasn't seen any DLL, it's empty since i'm using moded system files, and when i open C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\ole32.dll with reshacker, reshack shows me the green cursor, everywhere i changed it
...for some reason ole32 doesn't seems to be the only ressource for cursors, it ain't anybody's fault except M$...
why an OS should search for graphics ressources in such different files, shell32 couldn't be the only "shell" file? so many question i have about windows that will never have answers
:rant:
...still seekin' the other cursors...

![]()
sorry buddy, but thats the only file that does it.
it works for me just fine.
Replace the icons and save the file in a different folder than system32, say, your desktop so its right in there for you.
then do what i wrote above, and right in the end, you gotta get the dialog box of "insert xp CD". Once you get that, you choose to OVERWRITE the old file and you're all set. Restart and see osx come alive.
sorry but thats the only way to override windows' protectio, i know off. :surfer_dude:
man!!!
still sorry to disagree but i've done twice exactly what you told me (considering moreover that i'm getting use to sys file modding) and i must say it's still the same :
for some actions the good cursor shows up and (e.g. extract from zip) but for basics copy such as C:\ to D:\ it shows this ugly white cursor ![]()
i'm gonna get mad
see, all you gotta do is replace the system file.
thats your problem as i assume.
what im affraid of is you mentioned the osx cursor comes up only in certain times - so i get to think you havent replaced ALL win32 cursors on ole32.dll through reshack. no? :smartass:
if nothing works out for you, ill send you the ole32.dll file (i have XP pro, not sp1/2) so perhaps it could help (Y)
In case you have replaced all the cursors in ole32.dll and you are still not able to replace the file following Goku's indications, I suggest you to use XP's recovery console, that can be accessed booting with your XP disk and pressing "R" in the upcoming menu.
But maybe you knew this already... :ninja:
@ieub, glad to hear its not only me.
@everyone else
ive replaced all the cursors in OLE32.DLL using RESHACKER. then i booted to a DOS prompt and replaced OLE32.DLL. i restarted and checked the resources in the active OLE32.DLL (cursors were right).
i then tested it and when i put an icon to my dock i had the right cursor, but just copying from folder to folder its the same awful win32 cursor.
as i said before, mayb theirs a cache of sorts. but OLE32.DLL hasnt made the change 100% ![]()
man microsoft are dumb

(Y) thx the unknown you were the only one to trust me ( not like this evil goku
)
now that you've localized the problem, maybe we can get closer...i'll try to give it a look too...any others people's help would be appreciated though, keep on tryin man i'm sure we'll achieve it :smartass:
Does any one know which cursor is which in ole32.dll?
I dont have a mac,.. can somebody help out with this issue?
I have goku's pack but don't know which cursor goes where in ole32.dll, notably where the hand and grab hand are supposed to go....
Can someone who knows compile a list?
cursor group 1=
cursor group 2=
curs.... etc..
This is what I've come up with:
Cursor Group
1 --> Unavailable (action cannot be done)
2 --> Windows Standard move
3 --> Windows Standard copy
4 --> Windows Standard create shortcut
5 --> Windows Black move
6 --> Windows Black copy
7 --> Windows Black create shortcut
Also, in user32.dll
Cursor Group:116 is the CD insert cursor.
...thanks
Yes but!
What are the apple equivalents????
In Goku's file (listed above in this thread) the apple cursors are not labeled,...
We get "cursor box" "hand" "hand grab", etc,
so which apple cursor is what?
