I saw this on a hometheater forum I visit daily, was kinda cool, gave me ideas on what movies to go out to rent, so you little kiddies. Post what movies that are worth renting, ones you want to rent, ones you plan on renting, or just a decent movie over all.
I'll start it out.
- 24 Season 1-3
Event Horizon. The only movie that scared the hell out of me!
exorcist : the beginning
edit - If you like war movies ... "To End All Wars" is a very good movie. Its somewhat like "Bridge over the River Kwai" but better and new.
Recommended: Pulp Fiction, Scarface, T2: Judgement Day, Old School, Ocean's Eleven (2001) and the list goes on...
BTW 24 is not a movie but a TV show so you should change the title to include TV shows.
For TV shows im currently acquiring Married With Children
i'll post a couple that people are less likely to have seen but are really good:
Touching the Void - really good documentary shot in a movie style. About a brit climber's tortuous near death experience. Funny and painful at the same time.
Brazil - if you haven't seen it yet its def. worth it. 1984 with humour.
Where the Buffalo Roam - basically Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas starring Bill Murray, a cheap budget, and shot in the 70s or early eighties (can't remember when).
Gormenghast - Mervyn Peak done quite well... genre: fantasy...
get some music video dvd things too, those are always good when there's nothing else good or when you have people over...or just to watch, then again you could always just watch a music video channel or one of those tv music things...hmm, nvm then I dunno.
matching The Dude white russian for white russian in The Big Lebowski is also worthwhile
to cry, watch "dancer in the dark".

I'd suggest Battle Royale - one of my all time favourite movies (and Quentin Tarantino's btw). Be sure to get the Director's Cut though. And don't even think about watching the sequel. It is just plain sucky trash.
Oh, and you simply HAVE to watch Casshern. Best japanese movie of the last years.

First time I saw Mr. Bale and this movies kicks a$$ one of my favorites. btw go see Batman Begins if u already haven't

I agree with kid's reccommendations, and get the disney movie "Miracle" just for laughs, I love the lines in that movie;

I wanted to burn out both eyes and ears after watching that movie. But then again, I take offense to someone calling Elephant a "stupid indie teen movie", so you'll just have to ignore me.
- Mulholland Drive
I'll have to agree on this one though, but then again, I disliked ocean's 12, so you'll just have to ignore me.
