thanks 'sista,' for giving us more options in the dock world... I suggest doing it your way first and foremost ...and yield a less homogenous dock scene..

darlin might be a good word for you guys
. thanks for the app. i apologise for thinking that this is a rip. i have to admit that i'm paranoid and cautious.
i don't mind the 20 mb resource ussage as long as cpu is low and the memory usage dosen't keep climbing and climbing.
Does this have a "Minimize to dock" feature? I'm using OB, so no taskbar. =/
Other than that, seems really cool. ![]()
a request is to have normal mac backgrounds available. the blast background style is too fancy for me. i'm going to look forward seeing the development of this dock ( but that dosen't mean i'm abandoning any other docks).
Nice dock. I see you already are planning YzDocklet support - there are Yz* exports in the pe-file.
The dock-items also seem to have a problem with special files, like dialup-connections, the "run"-box, hope this will get fixed. This could be solved by, instead of saving the PARSEDISPLAYNAME, saving the pidl as a base64 encoded string.
Great to see another dock ![]()
Umm, I am not a "bro" but a "sista"Just for future reference.

Whatever you say... Dude
haha
btw, I was wondering how many ppl is working on this project?
r3db4st4rd, I am really glad you like the dock.
Thanks bunches for the awesome comments. i agree RK Launcher is a nice peice of work, but everyone has their needs. I guess that is why there are so many dock options available.
firecracker6, that is the only way I know how. I cannot mind read. but I will do my best to please as many people as possible without sacraficing my own wants.
steelfist, I appreciate the appology. I did not take it personally, I actually anticipated some skeptical users since it is named so closely to RK Launcher. I hope you do give RocketDock a good look. I do not expect to take over the entire dock community. Just wanted to add in my own project. I was a MobyDock supporter personally. Shame to see development on it stop. Hopefully RocketDock can stand level with all the others out there. Oh and as for the normal mac background request. Anyone is more than welcome to make one. We are trying to steer away from all the other docks look. You can use a mac style from Y'z Dock.
Ellada, This will be in a future release.
Blade, Two, my boy friend (PolyVector) and myself.
Does this dock have a full and empty state for the trash? I can't seem to find it... But otherwise this thing is superb. Can't wait for those future releases.
btw whoever translated the word "standard" into german (=> standart).
even in german its spelled "standard". i think this is the most done mistake in the internet...
just curious is this hardware accelerated
no it isnt, but its as fast as it was ![]()
i got 20 icons in the dock, Athlon 2400+ here
and its fast as supposed, when using RK launcher its very skippy.
Sounds good so far, when the devs meet and exceed MobyDock though is when I will give it a try ![]()
@idicula
Stevie1 is correct, it's not hardware accelerated but there is a very good reason why. Hardware acceleration in this situation would be rediculous. Because windows is NOT hardware acccelerated, the bitmap data has to be sent from the video card back to system memory to call UpdateLayeredWindow(). The speed you would gain by accelerating the scaling effects are lost in the transfer unless you're calculating a bit more than 10 two-dimentional icons. There is also the obvious side-effect of having a HUGE DirectX requirement.
Take a look in the Mobydock DX directory, you'll notice they use Gdiplus as well as DX
w00p, looking forward to more cool features.
i especially like the options menu, its not the "standard-all-dock-use-the-same"-menu ![]()
greets stevie
Sorry for bumping this thread, but I would like to know if RocketDock is still in development because there were no new versions since over a year now, I guess.
Does no one here have any information about RocketDock's progress? Is the project dead?
Again, sorry for bumping this thread ![]()
If you trust whats written on there homepage, they are still working on it, I think
Yeah, they 're presently working on other projects but they're not giving up Rocketdock. I hope they keep working on it, to ime it's the best dock ever !
