Why exactly should we be for apple using chips that are slower, more expensive and have an unreliable delivery? Some arguments would be nice to motivate us

this is a dead effort.
developers have and are transferring their OS X applications to be compatible on Intel chips.
of course, you want to pay them for their wasted effort and work and Apple's work and we will all use those hot, power consuming, slow IBM chips! 
Yeah I think I've come to embrace the intel deal, but only after watching the keynote video, that put all my fears to rest.
why this stupid petition? you don't want Intel Dual core powered PowerBook running OSX next year.

Exactly, this will make game ports MUCH easier, all that has to be adapted is DirectX to OpenGL. And maybe some other stuff. I can't wait for my Duale with intel inside™ *sells imac*

If you think the change is a bad thing, you probably don't know much about it at all, just the fact that people around you don't like it.

The G5, while a nice CPU, just doesn't have the backing by it's maker (IBM) to keep up with the rest of the market.
Apple had to make a choice. And in my opinion, it was a pretty good one.
Acknowledge and move on.
Hobbes: think about it... why is konfabulator available in both windows and mac? though everybody here that's looking at this thread would tell you that your looking at a dead end...
doesn't it make much sense that if mac was to make it just strictly PowerPC where people are paying more for the machine than just the look and the OS? The announcement if you've fully read it makes more sense for Apple to move to a more economic choice where EVERYBODY even yourself own an Intel/AMD based computer.
It's a better move if you really think that OSX is much better than WinXP. Besides the stepping stones have been possible already.. PearPC made it possible. Why can't Apple do the same?

Anywho, after watching the video, a ton of my worries are settled. This will be good for Apple.
I just don't want that "Intel Inside" sticker on my new laptop!!! (I doubt that they will)
Advice: If you were thinking about getting an Apple, get it. Universal binaries will keep your Mac current. So no worries.

Does someone have a link to this vid ? Maybe Itll convince me but I still think it was a horrible
idea. Last time this happened apple lost alot of market share and they had to completely redesign
the OS to run on the new architecture. I just dont see how they can afford to risk it again.
i'd rather not sign it than going back to IBM which won't help make g5 powerbooks, and instead make two other petitions. one, is to pursuade and ask them multicore 64 bit pentium 4 cpus for the next releases of macs, and another for multicore AMD cpus. i don't think going back to IBM is a good idea.....
And, The vid is right on the apple site if you can see properly. . the idea for the dual-binary project is very cool. the ceo of wolfman corporation is very funny in the video. you gotta see it.

I can also say that a Kia kicks the living crap out of a ferrari, but that's would only be true if your test is "how many people aged over 75 buy one".

I watched the vid, and well, maybe it wasnt a completly bad idea but note that it took a system with
quad 3.6 ghz pentium cpus (thats 14.4 Ghz!!!!) just to present the x86 version of osx smoothly. And
did any of you see how long it took to start up photoshop CS2 ? Its faster on my mac mini (yes it is).
