RK Launcher Update Thread
Any new updates coming along? Haven't got a new update so far, Raduking ^^.. Been busy with other things in life?
I had a 2 weeks vacation and had no internet no computers around 
but now i'm back and working on the Genie effect,
I don't know how much it will take to develop since I'm learning DirectX at the same time
but there will be no RKL nightie until genie is finished

RK, are you planning to implement directx (and not OpenGL) into RKLauncher (HW GPU accelerated effects into magnify, scaler, genie) , or is it a separarate study?
Agreed. I always look forward to the nightly builts curious to what improments to find. Guess I've become one of those I-need-a-new-version-just-for-the-sake-of-it-types, but nevermind me. A new version will now deliver the lingered-for genie, so it'll be worth the wait. Meanwhile beta 0.4 (built 152) runs quite stable.Sad there aren't gonna be nightly for a while..take your time and dont rush..

Should we quit calling them nightly builds and just go back to them being called beta builds? Nightly implies every night there's something released, no matter how bad it is or if it crashes your system or not. That's not what RK's been releasing (thank goodness - I much prefer semi-stable betas), but I don't see the point of calling it a nightly build if we haven't seen one in a month and a half.
And don't take this as a slam at RK in any way...he deserves a break like everyone else...and the Launcher is great...but I come from a software development program management background and would like to see the term used properly.
how about "officialy unstable, untested, and unfinished builds > warning: try it at your own risk"

i fully agree with hallf about the misleading term "nightly build" weekly or monthly or just updates should work better, but it better be accurate to what it claims to be.
and thank goodness rklauncher hasen't stopped. i was so worried about the program development !

Well deserved. Likewise, welcome back. Some efforts simply defy explaination, Launcher is another one of those works of artistic programming, you're doing a wonderful job with it. Just when you think you have your preferences all settled in your mind or in this case, desktop, along comes raduking and puts a whole new fanatastic spin on things. This dock is emerged to rise as the cream of the crop IMO.
I totally agree with Mirror's last post. This magnificent piece of software has made me dump my other docks and switch over to this one. Anything you do to this dock is just icing on an already superb cake. Thanks a whole lot for this. Dig it.
