Yeah all Tricky/alto were saying about the perspective was that the perspectives are different.

LMAO... i though you said in your blog that you were gonna create amzing icons with talent and skill that the likes of the loser amateurs over at macthemes could only dream about. So far you have shown us two icons that you *say* have the same perspective when in fact they do not match up. You really ought to just take the constructive criticism from those who are trying to help you and make em better. You are way to sensitive. I cant tell you how many times somebody has said... "err that doesnt look so good to me maybe you should try it this way" (ji)
Anyhow, you will make much better icons if you learn to have consistency and listen to other peoples comments. No one i bashing you pyn. Unlike you attitude towards other in other threads we are trying to help.

i dunno..i like minimalism, but this is not good minimalism :slant: i guess the gradients and dull/unmatching colors ruin it
BTW, if you know you are going to be bashed for your inferior work don't post it...anyways, the gradient is too contrasting, and i really hate seeing these types of stuff with overused fonts [AKA HANDEL GOTHIC]. the drop shadow is the default settings for photoshop also...

Pat, all your "im pissed off mommy" swearing is really getting on my nerves. Try to talk without using censorable words every word and a half, it just makes you look like an little kid with no communication skills.
For no reason in the world are those icons the same perspective, take the (very helpful may i add; Altoprofilo, wow! 
) comments and work on them or not, just dont whine like a spoiled brat, its annoying.

Bulge or no bulge, the perspective and lightning will differ if the non-bulged icon has that inclination... You being so knowledgeable about icon making should know that - right?

@Pat... everybody here seems to be correct about the way your looking at these comments... and sure I'd be in the same boat because i myself am creating an icon set... Alto's diagram does explain quite a bit about how your perspective is off... just a tad bit.
anyway my point is... we're all artists here and seeing as we should all take criticism with the amount of patience and stand back and take a harder look into what everybody is saying and just accept that there is something wrong.
These would be a great set of icons and I myself would look forward to using them... Look into the ideas, they all help. And one more thing... think before you rudely comment on other peoples work. They take advice from others and try to improve before showing the community their time and effort.

It has to be tilted a little back in order to create that shadow. I think you should keep the same perspective on all the icons. I like your last icon preview a lot and your interpretation of Safari.
Cool another 2 icons - at this rate you should be ready in time for Longhorn's launch.

Assuming the Safari icon isn't supposed to be a flat cylinder but more like Apple's design, then I'd agree that the perspective is right - if the main color were a bit darker and if there were a similarly-shaped highlight on top, though, that'd be a lot easier to see.
why is the title to this set still macthemes sucks. I thought you were going to make crappy icons to imitate them? Otherwise im liking the set so far

I don't like them pyn, I don't say that cause you had a bad critic about some of my previous work (looks like I'm not the only one), but I already know that I won't use any of the icons you showed us in preview in one of my desktop.
