Not my style... but definitely an interesting, well thought out icon (set). Can't wait to see where this set goes.

when i saw it, i thought playstation. then i noticed you used a playstation based font. so, i squinted my eyes in an attempt to blur out the letters, and the icon still has a playstation touch to it, which isn't at all a bad thing. i like the color choice, it glows very nice. but, i'm not quite sure how well that will look against my choice of wallpapers. i'm interested in what preview is coming next.

just wondering why the perspective is different on those 2 preview icons? Also some continuity in the colouring would help greatly.

it will include icons that resemble the typical mtf's **** at photoshop and releasing crap. i will purposely **** up the icon with contradicting styles as well as opposing all rules of drawing. alongside i will release a "fixed" version that will be available for download that will exemplify that which almost none of those at macthemesforums have--talent and skill BOTH.

its not - because you can cleary see the top of the finder icon where as on the safari icon you see more of the bottom...

Than the shadow on the bottom is too thick, it gives the impression that we are looking upward at this, exposing the bottom portion of the icon.
the lighting is a little off on the safari icon as well, the shadows are not consistent with the highlights
@ photo: no the lighting is not off, and the shadows ARE consistent.
the inset has a shadow on the top under side and the bottom has a shadow and then a drop shadow... the highlight is on the vial
Nope, they really arent...look again...the bottom bevel on the inside of the icon is not there...again, giving the appearance of an upward view, or better yet, that the icon is tilted backwards....if that were the case...the shadow on the bottom outside of the icon wouldn't exist because nothing is there to create it.
And also the dial thingy sits directly in the highlight and has not hot spot on it, or is it giving off any shadow itself.
So as stated earlier, that bottom shadow gives the appearance that it is the underside of the icon

the angle of lights on all my icons are not coming from a 90-0 degree angle, they are coming from 90-30/45 degree angle, thus creating a CURVED shadow, else it would be rectangular b/c the back of the compass and front would align to make a rectangle.
the bottom bevel of the vial cannot be shown b/c it would be a white highlight on a white surface, and i don't want to make the surface grey/silver for disappointing the aesthetics of a vector icon...
same i did not make a small shadow for the compass needle
I AM NOT GOING TO MAKE SOME ****ING ICONS THAT ARE IN BETWEEN REALISTIC AND VECTOR AND TURN OUT SOME UGLY CRAP RESIZED DOWN. OK?

do me a favor, take that safari icon and turn to look at its profile and envison how it looks in your head.
You will see what I mean.
And I don't think the lighting can be 90 30 45, with the shadows the way they are

2.) yes i did turn it on a profile in my head, and according to every single drawing, architecture, sketch, painting, perspective et al textbook, my icon is correct
3.) the lighting is not 90 30 45, it is between 90 30 and 90 45

what he (and Tricky) said is right, look at this image:
the points of view are more different (inclination and distance) so the prospective is different!
These icon are cool but totally different!
P.S. Belive me i'm an architect!
