Album Art Submissions

Hi everyone. As some of you know, I am a musician, and have been working off and on on various musical projects over the last year or so. I tend to lose interest sometimes, so to date, I have not managed to finish an entire CD. However, I've recently been working on new songs, and would like an album cover for the finished CD, so I'd like to see if any of you would be interested in submitting ideas. If you make any covers, please make them 500x500 pixels, 72 pixels per inch, and in JPEG format. Also, my name and the CD title need to be on it; my name is Adam Potts and the album title is Heart on Both Sleeves. Thanks to anyone who is interested!

It is really hard to create album art w/o hearing the song....thats where the inspiration comes from.

OK, both good questions.

I'm aware 500x500 would look pixelated if printed out...but since I'm poor and can't afford printing costs, I'm just planning on distributing the music digitally and embedding the album art in the mp3 ID3 tags.

The music is similar to an artist named Elliott Smith, for those of you who are familiar with him. If you haven't, it's basically slower acoustic songs. If you get a chance, check out some of the clips of his music at the iTunes store.

this is just a random idea, but i had an idea of adding some scribbled art to it, something kind of similar to what radiohead does:

and although they're not exactly alike, i believe some people might think it's a lift of this design:

well, i went to cafepress.com (the website doing the printing) and grabbed some templates for the covers (front and back) and the disc itself. i'll attach them to this post.

basically, the insert is going to be simple, just two pages, so i'm not going to put any lyrics, just thanks, credits, etc. so i guess the design breakdown would go like this:

front template: 2 copies, one with the lettering and ballons, one without (just the orange background)

disc template: probably just a flat orange color with the balloons, but if you feel like being more creative, go for it

back template: just one copy of this, the same design as the cover, minus the balloons and lettering.

also, is there any way i could get copies of the fonts you're using?
