i like the sunken buttons on the left instead of them hovering over the window thing but i really hate the flat play buttons...It looked fine on safari (the flat buttons) but it doesn't work here. Maybe i'll get used to it but maybe i won't.

Well I have offered all the graphics files to Spidercrab for over 2 weeks now and he wouldn't bite. He kept complaining that the look was all wrong. I couldn't tell him it was from the beta at work, so he just turned down the image parts to update the QCD skin. I have been slowly doing it myself but the going is slow because I am working on a few other very big graphics projects. I emailed Spidercrab this morning to see if maybe he would take the skin pieces now that the official iTunes 4 was released and it ended up looking just the shots I sent him. We will just have to wait and see what he desides to do.

P.S.

Mr. Rudberg did not invent the look of the iTunes patch. If you read his info at the site he plainly says he took the images from iMovie 3 to do the conversion. He can't go after Apple because they put the original images into there iMovie 3 application before he got his hands on it. Any judge would laugh him out of court. You guys seriously need to get your facts straight and do some reading about these themes before you go jumping to conclusions like have done. Mr. Rudberg did an excelent job but he got his materials from Apple all along.

I'm still complaining too. I also don't like the new play buttons. I think Apple have made a big mistake with the new look. Max's sunken buttons look really good but the iMovie buttons don't look right. They look like they were lifted from another application (true). Even the highlight on the play buttons is comming from a different light source at a different angle to the rest of the skin. They don't match the min max buttons in any way. This is shoddy work and I have always expected to see a higher standard of effort from Apple.

This version 4 has been rushed out too early and it shows. Shame on Apple.

to clear up the matter:

1) The sunken buttons are NOT Max's idea. Apple implemented it in some apps and he just did it for iTunes.

2) If you look at the powerbutton on the new ipod and dual G4's, you'll realize that the buttons are similar to them. If you think realistically, the old aqua buttons were physically impossible in real life. They were 'floating' above the actual surface. So, the new buttons are actually more realistic, and we get the idea of buttons studded onto a metal surface. When you think of it this way, its pretty nice..

Also... Its just a friggin button <_<

Hehe, my sentements exactly.

Apple is just changing a design. The abrupt Aqua buttons are becoming more sunken and professional. You wouldnt want an OS that didnt keep up with fashion now would you?

Goku, I'm glad you see the good in these buttons. (if any at all). I think the style goes well with everything and kind of blends like you were saying. Now the Safari buttons match the iTunes buttons and all the other apps as well. Kind of cool I think!

But, dont think I dont still love those aqua buttons!

Ill be making buttons - not a whole new skin. Then ill give it to people who'd like to make an itune skin. Before i do so, i'll just post them online see if people want it badly or not. If its cool then ill just let you all have it

Goku - Brilliant. That is exactly how the iTunes4 buttons should have looked.

The blue one is perfect. Maybe if the prev and next could be flatter and match the blue play with the same degree of highlight and surface roundness? Long live the spirt of true Aqua.
