yeah, it works... but REALLY slow... slows everything up, just not worth it...

P4 2.4 ghs Radeon 9700
Running an AMD XP 2700 with 1 gig ram and a radeon 9700 pro and it sucks up 100% of cpu.
Kaniada
Sucks too much CPU
Look well maximus... but I'm sorry, very slow... <_
OK that slows my system down big time.
I'm running a 2500XP+ 512mb pc2700 and a geforce 4ti4800se
it runs sooo slow!! it wont even let me click on the continue button that pops up either. Plus u have to pay to get rid of the ads, so its coming straight off my pc ![]()
Athlon Tbird 1.33ghz, 512mb, Radeon 8500 AIW 128mb
Crashes due to video card driver, or so it says...
Fresh winXP install, fresh Cat 3.2 install...
its the program... POS
SonyVaio Laptop 1.6ghz P4, 512mb ram, 60gig drive runs but 1st: says I should switch to 1024x768 from 1600x1200 120Hz 32 bit resolution (I didnt want to ) and 2nd: an ATI Mobility Radeon 7500 32mb; and it runs with no errors, just that Dreamrender runs very slow as it uses alot of cpu.
Is there a trick to getting it to run smooth Maximus or is it just your 9700 pro?
I am also running 3 samurize clients, Object dock, Object bar, and Alilm's finder app at the same time.
Radeon using Catalyst 3.2 from www.omegadrivers.com and DX9a. Laptop is triple boot OS, winxphome (original) winxp pro (mac emulation you see) and Linux Mandrake 9.1.

Thats one sweet desktop H4rM. ![]()
Here is a ss on the Dreamrender thread!
pIII 933, Radeon97000pro.
I used smooth liquid effect with a hq picture.
LOOK AT THE CPU USAGE diagram!
The first half is without the animated backgrnd
The spike at the middle is when I enabled the animation
The second half is with Dreamrender........
NO DIFF AT ALL!
So for those who had problems with it..........i dont no!

no crashin for me.. worked alright except for the MASSIVE Cpu chompage..
oh ya and it uglified my desktop icons :@
all i got's is:
Athlon XP 1800
512 DDR333
EPOX board
Geforce 4 mx 440
all runnin at 1280 x 1024
[ the screenshots ]
(notice transparentcies.. etc)
neXus
Try to create your own animation!
edit:
quality: 0-10%
tilt: 0%
viscosity: 65%
speed:0%
distorsion: 25%
drop freq.: 20%
system:
transparency: OFF!!!!
Use more cpu.....: OFF!!!
Hide your dock or make it 100% opaque
Thats all!
is it just me or am I not seeing a link to this? I want to try it. ![]()
For those who complain about the CPU usage, guys, you have to TURN ON the transparency option!!! Then you can get a CPU usage as low as %3 to 5%. This may sound wierd, but it just works! It is really cool! With the "mouse lighting" function, you will have more fun with it!
I am using Radeon 7500 Mobile with P4 1.8GHz, 384MB RAM, and my CPU usage seldom goes to above 25%. It keeps below 15% all the times. I am sure you guys will achieve better speed than me.
DreamRender can be found at http://www.dreamrender.com
(Unfortunately it doesn't support unicode so that my desktop icons in Chinese now appear strange.)
Maximus, where can we get the animation you show in your screenshots? I dont see it as part of DreamRender?
OH!
Is there a way with Samurize desktop icons to make a trashcan (like my pic above) respond like the standard desktop icon when full (showing paper) and when empty? The one on my desktop is a standard windows icon, but everything else is Samurize. In other words, can I add a trash can to my Samurize script and have it show the full icon when I delete things, and empty when I delete recycle bin items? If this is possible someone tell me how?
I use the desktop one from windows (see desktop above) since the one from ODock does not show when I delete things from D: E: and F: .
The dream was made by my firm.
So I cant post it. But a bypass.........
The pic is from :http://art.softshape.com
The spec...: are abowe.
It runs perfectly fine for me. Infact it runs a little too fast
Im running:
XP1800+
Ecs K7s5a
512Mb DDR
Geforce 4 Ti4200
Also just for kicks Im running 41.09
im guessing fps?
Hmm, with Transparency on, my Samurize icons look ugly as hell, and the one windows icon I have (recycle bin) goes back to being a very small icon from 128 size. But it is smooth and fluid.
Any resolve for this?
With the transparency off, samurize looks good, Recycle bin still is small, but it is choppy as hell.
Hey guys, just wondering if any of you were able to find that wallpaper from the first page of this post with the water. I went to the page but couldnt find it. If someone has it please PM me or IM me as boilerfletch on AIM or email me MFletch88@hotmail.com....I REALLY WANT THAT WALLPAPER!!! Thanks. Later.
Fletch
Well, mobydock works great on my second monitor, but with the transparency option on, it makes wfx look crappy, and mobydock on my main monitor is sluggish. Dreamrender doesn't slow down at all with the transparency option on, but I like shadows for my windows more than a moving backround.
Anyone got a cool flash desktop instead?
I'm running the latest gforce drivers on:
2x 2ghz Xeons
1 gig of ram
gf4 ti4600
gf4 mx420
Apps Used with Dreamrender:
Windowblinds4
WindowFX2
2x MobyDock .75

Is anyone else having a problem with dreamrender and Samurize icons?
Maximus can you post a pic with Samurize icons on the desktop to see if it looks like mine with transparency on?
There is one in the ss april section!
maximus-gratus:
I saw your SS's but not a single one shows Samurize desktop widgets/icons on it. Did you turn them off due to troubles as well?
Only time my Samurize icons looked good was when I turned transparency off, but then it started using 100% cpu and got real chunky. With transparency on, its smooth as silk, uses around 3% cpu but the samurize items on the desktop and any oversized icons all start to look like hell.
Other than that, Dreamrender is very nice.
By the way, I did create my own dream. Used a High Quality wallpaper and the liquid effect like maximus did. I actually love it and hope there is a setting to get this to run whenever my computer is on.
Can anyone else confirm if they are having the same problems?
