From the coming of the new IEView plugin of Miranda, I couldn't help but port one of those templates from AdiumX. HTML formatting was now possible for conversations.

The template, Satin, was originally by Yojimbo (yojimbo311 - AIM) which you can find here and was created for AdiumX. Permission was granted (in the readme). I would like to thank Yojimbo for making such a beautiful template in the first place. The whole thing needed a complete recoding due to differences in the Internet Explorer and Gecko engines, so it was not nearly a direct copy & paste job. Graphics were all edited only to remove tranparency (alpha channel not supported by Internet Explorer).

One more note before the download: Please read the readme. It's there for a reason. It has important information on new/extra features of the port and can help with any problems you may have.

I've been using this skin for 1 day, and I really really love it, I'm enjoying it every moment dude. I even keep looking for anybody to chat with, just to look at this skin.

However I found a bug, whenever I type just 1 character and press Enter, "the buble" is messed up. I don't know if it's my problem or it's a bug though.

Edit: I forgot to say THANK YOU for this skin

Edit 2: it would be cool if you could make the avatars a bit bigger, but it's not that important, I can mod it by myself

Can you post a screenshot of the bug? I don't seem to get it, or maybe I don't understand..I will tend to it tomorrow (going to sleep now). Also, about avatars. I was planning to have it so when you click it will expand (with "zooming" animation with DHTML). That may be in the next update. Keep you eyes peeled!

guys sorry for asking. i know there is an instruction for installing this and i followed all of it but after i install this ieview and apply the satin. my miranda is no longer working i can't even chat.

CHeck to make sure you have the latest tabsrmm and ieview plugins.. i think I hate that bug also...

@russelc would lit be possible to modify this skin into a port of the smooth operator message style also? It is very similar just a little more minimilistic.

In the previous version the bubbles were with white background. Now they are gray.

I liked the white more. How could I bring them back?

theres a couple of things im wondering...

-can we get a grey gradient background like the real adium skin?

-is there any way to change the "Me" and "Buddy" to say what the median is?

@bzeitler: there is a "minimalistic" style that doesn't show the avatar, so only the name bar and messages show.

@janzo: the greyed out message style and name bar are for history. new messages are white

@mntnbkr1065: the grey gradient will be very hard to achieve without PNG transparency support in internet explorer. also, are you only using AIM with miranda? because there is currently no %protocol% variable to be used. so if you use other protocols, it will still only show AIM unless you really did figure out a way to have it work with all protocols

It is not possible even if you do not resize the window because messages will scroll up when new messages are sent/received. I cannot make them gifs because the matte is pretty much useless in "trying" to make it blend with the gradient. The drop shadow is relatively wide and long so the matte will spread more, covering up more of the gradient.

If I send or receive files, I've got the orange rows, but not when changing status.

All you have to do is type at least 2 characters... I got that mess up when I type only 1... hope that helps

Also I found out that if you show the time (as in the SS at the start of this page) then you can type 1 character and it won't have the problem.

@Rissol: to change font, just edit main.css (edit font names)

To allow status changes in message log, go to options -> message window (under message sessions) -> Message log tab and check Log status changes under Other options

EDIT: Updated. Satin has been updated to version 1.2! With bugs mentioned fixed and big avatars now added (satin_bigavatars.ivg and satin_bigavatarsright.ivt). Enjoy
