Simply amazing, although I have to admit I prefer the start button in the original mockup. Also not really to big on the orangish color. I think white or a shade of grey would be better.

It would be nice whit the colors u have and transparency and main black color. orange and grey theme =) or the black one whit "red yellow and green" close, hide... hmm like the "old" Mac OS 8.. 9 theme whit scrollbars in diffr.. colors =)
Can the last two posters give me a better idea of what they mean? I'm not being a pain, I just didn't quite get your meaning (especially as my knowledge of Mac OS is from Jaguar onwards).
I'd like to redirect people to look at IGN.com's screenshot archieve on Gran Turismo 4, the VS is based on the Photo Mode from the game, that is why it's orange/black/light grey.
You might want to see the pics, not just read it...
It's nothing to do with "Aeroesque" it LOOKS vaguely aeroesque being black on glass (or Black on White/Gray for WB4)

I'd just like to say, it's coming along well, I've got all the window borders complete, the progress bar works, all the window controls bar the Rollup button (If anyone knows how to set up a Roll-up button in Skinstudio for UIS2, please contact me) and the Start bar is complete, I'm now cleaning up button states and various other elements. I promise nothing as far as release date, but I am now putting it into Skinstudio 
I hate the fact I keep bumping this post and previewing stuff I haven't finished but, I've been playing World of Warcraft it's so hard to get away from it... 
Anyway, here's the update, most of the theme is done now, although the second variation (coloured so that it can be used with stuff like Photohshop that insists on black text) hasn't been started yet.

man this is looking great. obviously something i'd have on my desktop for quite a while. I have noticed that it is a wb skin. I'm hopin that there's going to be a VS in the works as well?
Due to it being a black theme it is almost impossible for it to be done as a VS, although if anyone is willing to try, they can.

PS: Are the scrollbars in your preview final? May I suggest something minimal in design like Essorant's Jester skin (WinCustomize) it would look great in orange with your theme... just thoughts;-)
What I like are the tabs (very nice) and I always like the transperencies, great effort and looking foward towards this great release, and your future works.

No, the scrollbars are the luna ones because that's the base theme in Skinstudio
I already know what I'm doing for the scrollbars, hopefully everyone will like them.

Great design, just hope WB5 becomes a reality soon.
You should forward this thread to Brad, he could see the design potential with these effects through this skin and may consider bringing some technology previews forward

I'm assuming because (I think) Longhorn will have full transparency support.
As far as the transparent taskbar, there are people that have mimicked that. Wouldn't YzShadow do the rest? Provided I'm thinking correctly...
