I was just wondering if anyone still uses their 3.5'' disk drives? New systems (XP) STILL come with them, but surely they are useless by now. The fact that Apple dropped them years ago means we should all follow suit.
And anyone who turns this into an inuendo thread will get a slap!
No Floppy for Seppy unless he has to go to a very crappy pc with some file or has to turn in a C Project (stupid backwards techer)
I still use mine to install RAID drivers when i install XP. The drive is actualy inside my case hiding above my powersupply. IThats the only disk thats been in there for at least a year 
I do. That's right, I DO. Do you want know why? Because I have two crappy computers. My secondary comp in my room doesn't have a FireWire card (iPod), and I have no other way to transfer data because I am too poor. Other than to burn a disk, but I only need to transfer a little.

I use floppy for really small file transfers (on non-networked computers), as well as boot disks for older computers that don't support USB booting.

When I run out of blank cds, I break out WinRAR, a crap load of floppies, and dust off my usb floppy drive.
i just took it out, cause i have nt used it in like 2 years anyways
I use it to update BIOS as all the hardware I use at the moment can't be updated in Windows XP (and know it's not crappy old stuff, one 14 months old in fact).
Other than that... not much... It's just that the PC has the good old compatibility problems so it's always nice to fall back on hardware so old that anything understands what it does. (Try installing Windows XP Update version on your spangly new machine without getting stuck in Win98 with driver errors 
).
i still use it, but it's been a year since i have done anything with it. the only thing i did was transfer other people's data to mine where i use my usb flash drive to transfer my own files. menuet was fun too.
I use it on two computers because I use a little bit of special software which needs to be backed up regularly and the data fits on a single floppy. Plus the backup utility gets arsey if I point it at a USB flash drive.
I don't use it at all and don't even have a floppy drive on both my PC and laptop 
. I got used with USB key, online storage and optical mediums

the case i bought came without a floppy bay cover so i had to put a floppy drive in
i've never used it.
I suspect my small file swapping between 2 pc's though floppy disk
will soon be dramatically reduced because of my recently purchased USB-stick.
i used it for bios flashes on an older machine, but now i can flash in windows, so i don't use it for that reason anymore. i use it to save some documents, etc. because it's better than burning an entire cd.
still use mine for loading sata drivers. i slipstreamed them into my wxp sp2 cd using nlite but it didn't work. (i gotta try that again...) otherwise, it'd gone...
My school is not valuable enough for my CD-Rs and not worth me buying a flash drive. This is why I use YouSendIt.com or teh floppies.
About 2 years that i dont use floppy disks. I use CD RW to take my keynote works to school.
Seriously, floppy disks are a thing of the past....who needs them!
I have two USB Flash drives, and an iPod Mini, so floppy disks are no longer useful for me.
My father uses them all the time. He saves all his contracts on one floppy. Its almost full anyway.
7 computers in my house, and 1 broken one, and none of them have floppy drives.
i have forgotten about those since i have an iBook
Just like Flarex said, my father uses it all the time + some teachers need a good instructor to burn a cd, so floppy is the best way for them
