You wanted it, you get it, see Attachment. On the way I invented a markup on submitting translation change requests:

sections are as in ***SECTION*** , valid sections are one of DIALOGS MENUS STRINGS

items are as in [iTEM], these are dialog or menu or string section names

Texts are as in OLDTEXT:NEWTEXT {commentary about why to change }

Be warned that my translations are somewhat pedantic. Very good job for not seeing the result in action!

hi herd !

i redid the file according your proposals.

but there are several things im not sure about...

1.) Vor Beendigung oder Themenwechsel aktuelle Konfiguration automatisch sichern...

=> Theme(s) generell als Themen(a) übersetzen ?

2.) Label IMMER als Titel übersetzen ? Sublabel dann als Untertitel ? :)

I have a trouble with translating into my language:

Seems like I can't insert multibyte characters like ĆćČč. The following are fine: ŽžŠš, because they're within first 255, but ĆćČč are not.

Any idea how to insert those unicode chars ?

I use ResHacker to translate DLL file.

Hi there!

I don't think it would be a good idea to translate Theme and (Sub)label, because "Themenwechsel" doesn't have quite the correct meaning and could be missunderstood, better would be "Theme-Wechsel" or "Vor dem Beenden oder Wechsel der Theme Konfiguraiton automatisch sichern..."

The same goes especially for Sublabel. The german "Untertitel" is not exactly what you mean, better would be "Unterzeile" -- but I think one should stay with (Sub)label, because anyone should know yhat you mean by that.

Best,

Rince

I agree that "Themenwechsel" isn't good. Sounds like "Tapetenwechsel". I just noticed that MS uses Schema all over the place: "Farbschema speichern unter..." etc. Also there is a "Symboltitel anzeigen" option in explorer's toolbar settings. There is no sublabel in windows but if someone with a german Mac could rummage through the UI maybe one could find an accurate translation. No need to germanize english words like Label, methinks. Guess the french have similar problems with 'Franglais' as we do with 'Denglisch'. ;)

For the fun of it, I just translated a common sentence with my (limited) turkish. When I translate it back to english, I get:

"Do you really want to burden your knowledge counter with Microsoft Office?"

In the sense of:

If you burden your donkey with another straw ball, it will collapse under the weight. :)

Hi all, i have finihed the Italian translation for Avedesk 1.2 .

You can download the file here .

Thanks. ;)

maybe if you want to propose your italian translation it should be yours instead of the one I posted days ago with only a few capital/lowercase letters changed and a new "Language by..." message with a link to your website. Where're giving out quite an awful idea of Italian people, you really have no shame, haven't you ? :slant: (and the version you used is a week old, there's a new one with a few corrections). I have worst words in my mind, but I won't let them out :mad:

I'm very shame for the disadvantage. I provide very fast to solve the problem. Excuse me for all.:(:(

Bgr, I think it's a problem with the ResHacker editor. Maybe you can try to use the Visual Studio project?

@janzo: Hungarian, great:D Big thanks!

@theSketch: Awesome, big thanks to you! BTW, you are the first one to also change the VERSION resource :). kudos for that.

SOMEONE WANTS TO DO JAPANESE PPPPPLEEEEEEEEASEEEE?

BTW, you are the first one to also change the VERSION resource :). kudos for that.

whops, I didn't change it on purpose... :) the Comments/CompanyName/FileDescription fields should not be translated I think (my Properties tab already show them in Italian, so they are identifiers). Should we change OriginalName "LanguageFile.dll" into the one we are using ? and the "AveDesk 1.2 Language File" strings?

#252002

Nah, Only the Description :)

VALUE "FileDescription", "AveDesk 1.2 French (standard) Language File"

For example, for french.

#252007

which editor do you use for editing DLL file ???

all that i tried do not compile unicode characters.

help!!!
