This is super-awesome-amazing
You have my full support, please keep it up ![]()
I've just downloaded the pack, run it and got an error message:
An error has occured while attempting to skin itunes. If you have just closed iTunes and got this error, it could be that iTunes wasn't or isn't fully terminated. Please try again and see if it resolves the problem.
I've tried running it again and again but still got that error message. ![]()
You can't, yet. He hasn't released the program for creating them.
However - and this is just a guess - the format may be like Mac's .rsrc, so if you have a Mac then you could try fiddling with it there.
edit - Btw, Evo.. do you have a Paypal account? ![]()

Mahalis, yes I do have a paypal account..
Paypa ID:
As for the .iskin file. No, it is not like the .rsrc file of a MAC. This is a new custom file format which is going to change with the new release of iTunes Skin Creator.. I found a couple of bugs in my format when editing and plus I have to expand it to allow for the other skinning aspects of iTunes which I didn't take into account when I developed the first .iskin file format which you all are using now..
I have quite a bit of work ahead of me on the iTunes Skin Creator but work has been coming along smoothly..
I'm sorry for the wait but I can only do so much at one time.. There really is no information for what I'm doing so it's all Trial and Error and finding stuff out on my own..

After you get this error message, you should get another message stating the actual error returned by the system...
Let me know what that states..
If its:
Error Number: 70
Description: Permission Denied
That means that iTunes is still running in the background... Try going into taskmanager and then clicking the processes tab and see if "iTunes.exe" is listed there.. if it is, End Task it and try using my program again.
If all else fails, restart your computer and try my program before you run iTunes..

Didn't you create a backup? There was an option to do so...I seem to remember it being checked by default.
-nightcrawler1089
Yes, the program creates a backup of the iTunes.exe automatically..
I believe I posted this in my first post about using the program..
Anyhow, Simply reopen the iTunes Skinner program and click the button entitled "Restore Backup"... Make sure iTunes is closed before you do this..

Haha, yeah runasoft, I was being polite to the point of sarcasm
.
Anyway, deskmodder, just do what runasoft said. Otherwise, we'd have to email you the 10MB iTunes.exe file.
@runasoft- Check the front page...scroll down a bit until you get to Aqua Hightlights of the Week.
-nightcrawler1089
ohh i thought it would be a extra skin file
but the back up didn't work
so i made it by my own
thank you
p.s. excuse my bad english ![]()

Yes, I saw the post
Very exciting
hehe
Currently I'm working on the new skin file format.. Once I'm done, I will be creating a seperate file format to save skin projects since there is certain info that needs to be saved and reloaded in the project file that doesn't need to be in the iskin file and would only add to it's final filesize..

Runasoft ---Thank you so much for this application!!! I know that you have put a lot of work into this since you first started discussing the option of skinning iTunes awhile ago. I will definitely be donating to you Paypal account.........two quick questions.......
1) Is there a specific folder where we should keep this or can we store it inside iTunes itself if we want???
2) The very top of my iTunes didn't change to the color of the new skin (everything else worked out fine) could this be b/c of some sort of iTunes Mods or iTunes sidekick that I am using???
Regardless.......definitely no complaints that is for sure.........just wondering but nothing that can't be fixed.
Thanks again bro,
Nate Dogg
I've had the same thing happened and I am using the multi-plugin by localhost...it skins the top of itunes by removing the usual windows top bar...it stayed the same colour as the original itunes..but the rest was colorized...will there be a way to continue using the mod by localhost and your amazing skinner?Runasoft ---Thank you so much for this application!!! First off, thank you very much for your support. When I first released the iTunes Sidekick plugin, I had asked for donations to my paypal.. About 15,000 downloads I had no donations whatsoever.. ![]()
Ok, enough of my jibber jabber..
The multi-plugin issue is just that, a multi-plugin issue.
Multi-Plugin works by simply overlaying an image over the current titlebar and laying the caption buttons over that. I believe anyhow. The image it uses is located in .dll resources i believe.. I haven't looked at it much so I wouldn't really know.
As for the fix.. I'm pretty sure that a fix could be conjured up if localhost is willing to do some more advanced overlay techniques.. But for the most part, I don't see why you would need the multi-plugin titlebar option if the caption buttons can now be skinned.. Granted they cannot be shifted over the left hand side but nonetheless..
Ooh and as for the questions.. You can put the exe and skin file wherever you'd like.. In fact the new version of the iTunes Skinner will create a file in the iTunes Installation folder named "skins" and the skins will be viewable through the iTunes Skinner program for easy switching.

I don't mean to be annoying, but can I ask how the development is coming along? ![]()

Unfortunately, the development of iTunes Skinner has come to a hault due to RL issues. I am starting work on iTunes Skinner again today for a little bit but I have not been working on it since my last post because I'm trying to get my Computer Services Business off the ground over here in town.
I will try and do as much work as I can today and who knows, I may get finished but I doubt it because "SOMETHING" always comes up..

well, you gotta do whatever pays the bills first buddy
...i was just curious what was up with this beauty ![]()
