I find it funny how Itunes only takes 12MB when it's actually shown, and only 5MB when it's minimized

But Winamp takes a nice 30MB when shown and 15 when hidden :lol:

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

hmm that's weird

for me Itunes is

48MB shown 8MB hidden

winamp

15MB shown 4.8MB hidden

that's almost the opposite of what you have

#206485

Yeah I only use iTunes now because of Ave's Apps :P

But last night with a 4000 song playlist it was at 56MB :(

#206532

fb2k :

7126 songs curently in playlist (all with IDv2 tags) = ~ 8Mb shown ~ 2Mb hidden

#206537

iTunes is very variant about its mem usage:

35.8 shown 7.85 hidden

after several hides / shows:

15.2 shown 10.76 hidden

not playing, none selected:

8.85 shown 4.55 hidden.

(no powdercleaner used, 2048 songs, all with tags and album art)

Hey, Ave, I think that good idea would be make AveTunes responding to 1-click when in AveDesk is set 2-click. I don't like clicking on icons once and on AveTunes twice. It would be great! :D

#206595

Amazing job Ave and BZ... BZ is one of my favorite skinners and that new iTunes Widget just opened amazing possiblities for the skinners.

#206597

Hmm, 19 MBs shown, 6 MBs not shown. With ~5500 perfectly tagged + album covered mp3s.

#206620

Could you handle more praises Ave? This is bloody fantastic!

Great update :)

Quick question. I can make iTunescom a 'click' skin to start the animation, but I can't get it to reverse the animation back to itunescom when I click again.

I'm sure the hotspot is correct. Or do i have to make a new one?

Make sure the locations of the files are correct in both skin.ini

Little update, only for skinners who want to use this option

Added a flag in the hotspots for proper animation for type=click. Hover hotspots don't use this flag.

; if this is true, the current skin size is used for the animation rather than the
; size of the new skin. might come in handy with drawers;)
UseCurrentSkinSizeForAnimation=1

Skin makers, if you use this feature, please include the download link in your post, thanks :)

Hmm I'm not sure I understand this feature, can someone care to explain?

#206949

It's a subtile one, but suppose you make a skin with a drawer on the right that slides out when you click a certain hotspot:

SkinNormal

Width=100

Height=100

SkinDrawerOut

Width=200

Height=100

As animation, you would of course have an a drawer sliding out. You would have frames that are 200 x 100, since the animation plays at the size of the new skin.

So far so good, no problems. Now, you want the slider to slide in again. You set the hotspot to go back to SkinNormal and you use the animationframes in the reverse order. That's where the problem starts, since the animation is played at the size of the new skin, it would be 100 x 100 in this case with the independant frames at 200 x 100.

To fix this behaviour, you can set the UseCurrentSkinSizeForAnimation=1 flag. This forces the animation to be played at the current skin size, rather than at the new size.

Hover hotspots don't have this problem, since the back animation is always played at the current skin size.

damn! i thought it was the winamp support :6

#206954

Hehe, each release of Avetune make me more and more wanting to create a skin. Maybe this weekend if I have time.

But (there is always a 'but') it seems like the playlists support is broken with the v2.

I can see all my playlists if I rightclic AveTunes but if I choose one of these playlists, Avetunes do weird things like opening the preference window, trying to duplicate the desklet,... or do nothing at all for the best and of course the playlist isn't changed in iTunes.

Am I the only one with this issue ?

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Yes. There is an utility called DCOMCNFG.EXE, on which you can assign to redirect

all iTunes remotes and scripts onto iTunes on another machine in your network. Of

course, the remote machine's DCOMCNFG must be tweaked as well, both machines

must have the same set of networking privileges, user names so that it best works

on networks where a domain controller is present. With some try and error, you

should be able to accomplish this in a peer-to-peer network, too. However, don't

use configs with album art. This won't work across firewalls.

Is it possible the latest iTunes desklet could be causing a delay in Windows Explorer response times? Ever since I upgraded Im seeing a full second delay in folder refreshes, file renames and movement in single files.

Help!?

#207415

well, wouldn't have mentioned it, but since the first AveTunes release, i had some strange problems with the system clock. It lost about 5 minutes per hour and sometimes, it jumped to a random (i suppose) time - mostly some hours before, which made me forgot two meetings (not important).

still use it on my PC and problems seem to have gone, but never had something like this before... (BIOS battery is ok)
