Well I use Proteus on my Mac, and it’s the best looking IM client out there.
And I use Windows Messenger; well I'm willing to change to whatever client will allow me to use/make a skin that looks like this,
Here’s the mockup of what I mean, Windows Messenger sleeps with Proteus.
Yes it’s too damn pretty I know.
How does Timmy go about doing this? Which client can handle this beauty?

I'm working on a Trillian Pro 2 skin, but I have decided to temporarily stop work on my skin until it is known exactly what Trillian 3 is capable of. (in skinning terms of course)

the miranda aqua aim mod will do that. Its in the application skin releases forum

Edit: Are you kidding me? the AquaMod for Miranda pretty much just changes a few icons and the contact list. With Regnessem you can edit almost everything. I've already acheived userpictures as display names in the chat window (thx to Rotten for the help).

It's what the Japanese use, its very easy to mod and usable only for MSN and Yahoo Messengers.

yea that looks really nice, did you mod the chat window yourself? it looks good, not exactly proteus-like but its good nonetheless.
Since miranda is plugin driven and you can make different plugins to do the message window differently all it needs is someone who is interested in making a proteus\adium style message window plugin.

Pandium is a jabber based client, and seems to have the most flexible user interface I've encountered in any IM program. The interface is controlled by several common web languages (like HTML/JS).
And the link to pandium is .....? I googled it and didn't come up with anything.
