I had heart surgery and I think this is common but I woke up from the anestesia and thought they didnt even do the 8 hour procedure yet, then I started vomitting, hah.

Josh >.< did you have to be that concise???
This is not regarding anesthesia but rather a teeth incident like Josh's.
When i was little, i lived in panama and the daughter of a friend of my mum's came along (big boned monster, lets call her that) and wanted to "play" with poor young Seph....
Apparently, she thought that grabbing a kid thats 4 years younger than you and maybe 40 kilos less than you by the legs and spining him around was a cool thing to do, not only cool, fun for all!
After a couple of twirls, what i thought was obvious happened... she let me go and i landed with my front teeth into my bedside table (wood, mahogany) and my two incisives got hit the worse. One of them landed under the bed... the other one cut through the gum (upwards) and well... i had to get it removed >.<
The worse thing is that i had to walk around with a big hole in my mouth for a year or so until my teeth came out again >.<
I now... hate her... /Me goes to add her to wizard's thread
ARRRGHHHH >.
REVENGE !!! :robbery:
Awww, poor Seph and Josh. Have a cookie :console:
Thats a head rub from where i come from, Simon.. im still waiting for the cookie ![]()
How mean of you anyway, our jawcases are hurting and we are teethless, how do you want us to eat that freaking cookie, huh?
You're an awkward bastard aren't you ![]()
*Simon puts cookie in mixer, whizzes it up and gives it to Seph with a straw
wow this could be the biggest response from a post ive ever gotten.
Well back to my underground bunker with my imaginary friend....

argh... heart surgery freaks me out!
a couple of days ago, i heard a documentary on the radio about a female writer who underwent a mastectomy (i think that's how you spell it, too lazy to look) without any anesthesia in the 1800s.
1 glass of brandy, and she was conscious almost the entire operation (she blacked out for a tiny bit). Just the thought of being able to witness the cutting off of a part of your own body creeps the hell out of me.
Kindof makes me think thats the only way they should let women get fake hooters.
When I was smaller, after leaving the dentists office, got 2 teeth pulled, I went out outside and decided to play basketball with some friends. Before I got over to the hoop we had on our street, they started shouting, "Hey wassup" and crap like that, when I opened my mouth to shout something back everything became darker and I felll over on some grass. Next thing I knew (this part was retold to me by a friend since i didn't remember what happened in those vague next 5 minutes) I'm looking up at my friends female baby sitter, I think I was 10 at the time, she asked me if i was okay, and I responded, "Hey you're really hot" and tried to grab her ...
She never came back. ![]()

And then she punched you in the mouth, and you had to go back to the dentist to get more teeth pulled
.
I kinda want to turn this into a "Weirdest Things You Done To Hit On A Person" thread. But I won't.
Well yesterday i got my teeht pulled. they did the old hey look that way while i put you on the gas! i fell for it and in seconds i was the equivalent of a drunken mainah. when i woke up i drew a very nice picture of a hand, a flower and a model a ford, none of which i can remember drawing.
WHAT! You got put under anesthesia for pulling a tooth out? When I had to get a tooth pulled out, it was just:
Doctor: OK, this is going to be a little painful, but it will only last for a second.
Doctor: Just use this paper towel and put pressure on it to stop the bleeding.
I still have the nightmares.
Holy hell wizard!
I had to get my front teeth pulled. All I remember is my dad coming at me with two vice grips (locking wrenches)
..heh
I recently had all 4 of my wisdom teeth yanked out. They gave me a general anesthetic, which I hardly remember getting. Actually, I don't remember anything up until late that evening. Anyways, I was told that right after I came to I started walking around the dental surgeon's office in a stupor, only to have a nurse sit me back down on the recovery couch. That happened about 4 times.
Later on, as I was getting in my car (It's a good thing I got somebody to drive it), I apparently started doing some kind of weird dance on the sidewalk. Hilarity ensues.
After we got in the car I took a drink of water, but choked on the gauze and spit water all over the dashboard.
I passed out on the drive home with my face towards the passenger window, with my mouth hanging open and bloody gauze hanging out. Apparently this freaked out passing motorists. Maybe they thought I was dead. (hmm... bloody thing hanging out my mouth + blood on the dash + anasthetics....).
Now, this is what I was told happened. The only thing that I vaguely remember is spitting the water/blood mixture on the dash. Thus I use the age-old 'rule': If you don't remember it; it never happened. I use that rule a lot. Heh.
I've never had teeth pulled, but I know what it's like to have bronchitis AND appendicitis at the same time. Here's a hint...it sucks! I was in college at the time, and of course I wasn't able to get ahold of my parents (who lived 4 hours away) to get the insurance info right away, so I was forced to sit in the emergency room for 4 hours (waiting for the doctor to come in to see me) trying not to cough (which, considering the bronchitis, was impossible) and couldn't take anything to help with the pain.
When I went into the OR (roughly 7 hours from when my appendix started to flare up) they hit me with the general anesthetic and I was out in less than 5 seconds. I remember briefly waking up in the recovery room, but blacked out again. I woke up later in a hospital room, but I don't know ho long it was inbetween.
I barely remember some of my friends coming to visit. They told me later that I was kind of like a zombie.
Also, a few months ago, the doorbell rang, so my idiot dogs (a 60 pound american bulldog and a 75 pound lab pitbull mix) got into a fracas, and while I was breaking it up (the only way to do this is to physically throwing one of the dogs into a room with a door to close) the lab pit mix snapped around and caught my hand.
As interesting as it was to see the inside of my hand, it was even more interesting to see the doctor putting a large needle in the middle of the very large gash to numb it. Ended up with 4 sutures and went to work the next day. Thank goodness I'm right-handed!
My hand felt dead for most of the rest of the day, kind of like it was a very heavy chunk of metal on the end of my arm, and it was very hard to lift it. Amazingly, there's only 2 barely noticeable scars on my hand now. The area stil aches a little, but nothing is wrong with my hand at least.
I also still have all of my wisom teeth, but the entist said that it looked like my mouth had plenty of room for them, so I don't need to worry about that.
