[release] Konfminitunes For Avetunes

It's some kind of port of Konfabulator's great widget.

When Andreas Verhoeven upgraded his iTunes desklet (AveTunes) with simple animations and the possibility to switch between 2 different skis, I thought an upgrade of my little skin was needed.

Just unrar it into AveTunes' skins folder. Be sure to use the last AveTunes Desklet. Then chose one of my 2 skins inside the Desklet Properties (KonfMiniTunes / KonfMiniClosed).

To switch between them just double click (or single click, depending on your AveDesk config) the bottom (info) symbol.

Bzeilter updated it with some nice stuff. I restyled a bit some images and changed the fonts.

Arlo Rose doesn't like his resources being used for other skins, that's why I haven't used any of the original resources and I've made a new set of files from scratch. In case the mods thought I must take it out, I'll do it for sure...I don't know if the "structure", as you've said, belongs to him or not... That would be an interesting point to talk about!

(Y) Thank you Duckie for keeping this topic in control and where it should be! By the way B-Sided....I absolutely LOVE this config. I asked for months if someone would perhaps make one for Samurize but it didn't happen. Anyway, if you look at the config created by B-Sided and compare it to Arlo's work.....there are definite differences between the two of them. This is where I very strongly agree with Duckie in the idea that if we are going to blow the horn of using the ideas of certain artisits but not outright violating copyrights.........we'll there wouldn't be much from this site that we would have to talk about b/c most of the stuff around AS is based somewhat on someone else's idea or creation.

Ok, i have had it with this discussion.

Lou, do you like when someone comes into a thread of yours and says "its a rip" and leaves?... Dont need to answer it. Its purely rhetorical.

I hate to add wood to the flame of my reputation as a fascist/communist/whatever you want but i will just say this: You thinking/knowing something is a rip of something is not a fact until the staff has enough proof of it (And certainly, you saying so is not proof).

But yes, we here at Aqua soft allow opinions, as long as they are not detrimental to a thread (That is why we have a rips and unauthorized works thread, you know) and coming to a thread and saying "this is a rip" is certainly detrimental.

Why don't you save your strengths (and public image) and PM a mod/admin about it and let Them investigate further the so called rip. Let them go to the thread and close it because of copyright infringement. Let them ask for proof of the work not being a rip.

Now, to the issue at hand...

What is a rip? an unauthorized reproduction/distribution of something (lets not get legal here, ok? im sure there is more to the definition).

If it was so simple to say what is a rip and what not, lawyers would be out of job and the ones who would still have it would not need to have a degree or some level of intelligence... What im trying to say is that every rip case (no, not rib cage) is different.

I wont talk about the Minium Inspirat case anymore, want to know what i think? go re-read my closing statement in that thread.

Lets take a look at this case:

Before releasing this desklet, B-Sided contacted me about it, trying to avoid any possible confrontation of this kind.

Ill tell you WHY this isnt a rip...

Arlo rose and company dont care about people reproducing their widgets, they couldnt care less. What they do care about is that their images are not used in such widget reproductions. This means that, if the images are not those made by Arlo rose and company, redistributing reproductions of their widgets is not ripping. Just like Swizcore allows ports to be made without a problem.

B-Sided has made his images from scratch, i have proof, and thus, this isnt a rip.

Now, i dont want this thread to be sh*tted on anymore than it already has been. Anyone whining about rips/unfairness/hairy moles in here, a [release] thread, will automatically get a warning from me.

B-Sided, i apologize for the people that took over your thread and for myself for ranting in such length about it.

Thanks Seph for the informative post regarding "rips"!!! Not that I ever thought that B-Sided's work was a rip at all but in general that makes it very clear what a rip is and is not!
