I've got the same problem. It seems to be related to SysStats. Judge is already working on it.

I got some way to change the city name, just share it with u.
For those who want to set the city name to be the one you want. You could follow this steps:(Before doing so, do remember to backup the orginal ini file.)
1) right click the desklet, select "configure meters..."
2) select the city colume in the "overlays" groupbox
3) click "configure..." button to bring up the configuration dialog to change the setting
4) set the "format" to "%s"(without " )
5) set the "meter" to weather
6) set the "selector" to "//obst" (without " )
7) click the "select font" button in "Appearance" group box to change the font size and font face in order to fit your desklet.
8) repeat the step3 ~ step 7 to the "City Under" colume in "overlays" groupbox.
click ok to finish this configuration.
If everything is ok. it will work. Now whenever you set a valid post code or city code, the correct city name will be displayed on the desklet. If the city name is too big or too long, just do the step 7 to find a correct size for you.
And u can just paste the url your find in the meter configuration in the browser. For example I paste this ";http://xoap.weather.com/weather/local/CHXX0037?cc=*&unit=e&dayf=5".
then weather.com will send an xml file back to your browser. You may feel confuse with this plain text. But all the info your desklet displays comes from this file. You can find a [tag] named "obst" or "dnam". That is exactly where the city name come from. You can also find other useful information in that xml file. If you have time, you can make an special Sysstats Weather yourself with these tags.

people outside america..if it doesn't work for you use the location ID as the Zip code...worked for me
@zetavision: Thanx for the tip, tried it and it worked! A shame i can't truncate my city name "Melbourne, Australia" to just "Melbourne" but that's what the location code returns.
@Duckie: Perhaps you might want to work zeta's tip into your new release of the weather widget. Just to get the n**bs off your case about "Why does it say Hereford when I'm in Toronto?".
Oh another thing, with regards to the weather icons, the Stardock icons aren't exactly the same icon set as the Konfab ones. Is there anywhere we can download the full Konfab weather icon set?

You can change the name by right clicking going to configure meters....and changing the city and city under names...

This Desklet is fantastic !!
but it doesn`t work for me !! 
I downloaded SysStats 2.0 from dockex.com and put it in the desklet folder! Then i Downloaded the Weather config and put it in the SysStats folder !! After that i added a new SysStats Desklet and changed the config to Weather.ini and then nothing appears !! the Desklet is still in the AveDesk Contol Panel but i can`t see it on the desktop !! what`s wrong ?? hope somebody can help me !!

@C@sperOSX: I got the same problem like u at first. Just check the position setting of this sysstate desklet, they are out of the size of your screen, aren't they?? Set them back to x= 0 , y = 0. I thing it is why your weather sysstats disappears.
i changed the units to celsius, but its reporting fahrenheit again ..... :rant: :rant:

Guys, fantastic widget. Looks great. I'm trying to mod it to show six days of forecast, but the widget appears to only go up to 260 height. Is there anyway to increase that?
very nice... but doesnt work for me... only %s everywhere (before someone say if I have tried everything, yes, I do all my 'homework' (aka, move the desklet to a viewable position, like 0,0, install the fonts, configure correctly the widget (with the right zip code, I even try so common zip codes like 90210 and nothing), etc). I think is because my avedesk is installed in 'another' dir and sysstats cant read the values correctly...

The unit parameter takes in 'm' for metric, if you want celsius.
@Blade, then you would have known that judge is working on it.
