Wow, quite a generation gap we have here. 
Ofcourse "Line-In" kinda ruins the joke for me. Even if they plug the analog hole, I can still record digital signals with my Archos MP3 player.

I must be the exception, I have a vinyl player, and have a small collection, most of it oldies (Jackson 5, Temptations, etc etc) but I do have some modern day stuff, my last purchase was Nina Sky and Beyonce, I like the sound you get with records, iI can't really describe it, but it's there........But of course the modern stuff I use for scratching, but I usually buy 2 copies one for scratching and one for soulful listening
I forgot all about the DJ's out there that scratch.
I Just found the topic very interesting.
My brother-in-law who is only 24, has never used a record player and laughs when ever I break out the "old" stuff.
And my little brother, who is like 12 years younger than I am asked "how the hell do you use this thing", when I pulled out an original Boston circa 1973-74 album.
Man I'm really feelin' old here (34).

Really this isn't new to me. I have herd about this, and really, this is real. Although what is the point of cracking it? You could just record it! Truthfully though, there is such a thing called a "digital record" in which you need a "digital record player".
