Transformers Movie In Summer 2006

At ComicCon going on in San Diego, The people working on a live-action version of Transformers movie have set a release date, Summer 2006.

Hasbro (rights owner of Transformers) are teaming up with Paramount (worldwide distribution) and Dreamworks (domestic distribution) to do this movie. Steven Spielberg will be the Executive Producer and Lorenzo di Bonaventura (Constantine), Don Murphy (The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen) and Tom DeSanto (X-Men and X2: X-Men United) are also on the producing staff.

They will also team up with Takara, which have been co-developers for Transformers since the beginning.

Though it is not official word, it is supposed to be based on the first gen Transformers. And the reason why it is taking a while is because they want to have real cars and planes for the transformers (how Bumble Bee was clearly a Beetle, they want all them to be like that).

Hmm, I think I will pop in the original Transformers movie now.

Wow, it seems like an early release date for such a project, still I can't wait to see how it'll look!

i'm looking more forward to the 'charlie and the chocolate factory'... supposed to be more like the original book (without those damn songs!!!)

#193057

Yep. And it's directed by Tim Burton. :D

#193058

i needed a transfomer movie to keep in my special edition transformer dvd player (wich also transforms into a VHS player) and watch in my transformers room while i play with all my transformers.

hope it dosn't suck. when u turn something animated into live action the end result tends to suck. but it sounds like enough talented people are working on it. so my fingers will be crossed.

My thoughts exactly, Keith. I've watched some of the Dragon Ball TV series and it's terrible, and a live-action movie version would be..... awful on a spectacular scale

:puke:

I am not a fan of DBZ, but just because I don't like it doesn't mean they shouldn't. If they do try to make DBZ into a live-action movie, it would distroy the franchise. DBZ is known for the Japanese Anime art style. There is no way they can adapt that style to satisfy their fans. And lets be frank, the only people that would see it would be the fans.

*cough*Final Fantasy?*cough*

How they going to pull off live action transformations?

#193160

tim burton directing used to be a badge of credibility, these days it's not a good sign i fear.

The only reson why Dragon Ball Z sucked here and all over the world is because Cartoon Net Work Killed it.. They edited to much stuff. And Had the worst Voice Overs.....The origianl Cartoon is What I Watched...And Dragon Ball Z in general has more fans. ;) (I am judging by the amount of fan sites)

to each his own wookie, imo he hasn't made a good movie since Mars Attacks. look at his resume since then: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000318/ he's lost it completely.

before big fish, i would agree with you. but you can say that about anyone really...

jerry bruckheimer... did pirates of the carribean last year... what else did he do last year? kangaroo jack!!

or martin scorsese... did you actually sit and watch 'bring out the dead' all the way through? or 'kundun'?

i thought big fish was one of the best films last year...

#193239

jerry bruckheimer?!? are you on acid? it's probably best if we stick to porkchops, clearly we have very different taste in movies :P

mmm... delicious.... acidic porkchops that make you feel good  :hippi:

the point i was trying to make about jerry b. was that he had a big hit with pirates, but that same year, he produced crap like kangaroo jack.

i'm not a big fan of jerry either, i was just using him as an example... other than black hawn down, i don't think he did a decent movie since the ref in 94. screw con air, the rock, and bad boys....

oh, sleepy hollow sucked
