[release] V Animator (includes Buttonanimator V2)

I think that vanim and TopDesk are not playing well together. I notice that after awhile, my system begins to get sluggish, I take a look at my processes and TopDesk is going @ 50% CPU. I kill it. Reload it, and it starts up at 50% (and unresponsive, I should add.) I close it again, and start closing other processes, and launching TopDesk (to isolate the problem). When I get to vanim, shut it down, and start up TopDesk, TD loads just fine and runs. But now, if I load vanim after TopDesk, both coexist happily. At-least for now. I'll see if closing both and launching vanim first, then topdesk causes the problem; will report back.

EDIT: yup, there's a problem. Load vanim first, then topdesk causes topdesk to hang @ 50% CPU.

@Vjay, I hope life has been well with you I just wanted to say thanks again for your vanim app. I still use it on all my installations and it remains one of my favorite customization apps. Your most recent update is still amazing and I have just started to use the button pulsing feature now that I am using it with Kol's Vista WB5 skin. (your program renders the buttons quite nicely.) I sincerely hope you plan to further develop your program Anyways, ever the loyal fan of your work. I hope you do not mind but I recommended your program to FlyakiteOSX during beta testing.

is it reversable and can it be used with a theme other than the original mac buttons theme?

also how can one change the font colour for the buttons?...my msstyle has them white but when this apps activated the text goes black and i cant read it

yes, it's reversible... the program can be loaded and unloaded. As you can see from the screenshots above, vanim can update itself with the button images being used by your visualstyle/wb and use those images instead of the default aqua buttons. Some visualstyles/buttons yield better results than others but see for yourself how vanim fared with the above vista buttons.

im not doing very well, i started getting ill yesterday and im sitting @work, counting the minutes.

I cant concentrate on anything, so i started surfing around and thought, maybe theres something new on aquasoft (this is a verrryy unlikely case, but the faith dies at last;)). And it conjured a little smile on my face to see here is some activitiy after all the time.

Oh yes, i totally forgott to support the font-settings... that often happens when you program sth. for yourself and you dont use a function.

Maybe i fix that this weekend, because dont want to go to party or anywhere else in my actual state.

PS. you can use VAnim with nearly any theme, you can even edit the Pictures youself manually. The "Update Buttonpictures from Windows"-Function is just to make your life easier, but it wont work with all styles. The function can only guess how the button looks like and where the transparent regions are etc. When you want a 100% copy you have to do it manually.

@fc. Thanks for the PM. It looks like your buttonfont is a littlebit misaligned. Maybe i add an offset parameter.

Vjay!! Welcome back! Albeit I'm sorry to hear you've been sick. It's great news to hear that you'll be updating this really cool program. I would really love to see further enhansements to your halo effect. Your last update blew me away with transparency! Maybe a smoother blending out from the text-box border? Could this be possible? Also, I have been using your program mainly for the halo effect and the progress animation since you released it and it has been very stable, in fact, I can't think of a time where anything bad has happened due to vanim

I have only recently begun to use the button pulsing portion of the program when I discovered it works beautifully with the Windowblinds5 vista skin. And on 3 computers running for about a week, no ills to the systems. I do have, sometimes, this problem though (occuring occasionally in different areas):

Edit: I know I could use the exclusion list on this one, but I wanted to point out this effect incase it might shed some light on possible optimizations and/or performance enhansements.

P.S. Since I've been using vanim with the Button Pulsing feature, I noticed that TopDesk (expose clone) would freeze and become unresponsive after opening it’s Options window. I then added topdesk.exe to vanim’s exclusion list and all works well now! Great feature you had added.

Yes, thanks and continue success with your efforts. Been using this every since you first offered here and is very beneficial attraction to Windows system.

I enjoy occasionally open the .bmp's with IrfanView and simply enhance the colors; changing tints now & then. Very Efficient and useful program.

Edit: I like it! One request on the pulsing buttons: When you move a window, during the drag, the buttons temporarily stop pulsing until you release the window. When released, the button pulse hiccups back in sync with it's original rythm... is there any chance you could simply have it resume it's pulse right where it left off?

@ crucius, do you mean that your animations and button pulsing still continues even while you move your windows? (ie, dialog windows,) or do you mean that when you release the window that the animation simply resumes where it left off smoothly?

I am running windowblinds 5, could this make a difference?
