I am 24 and from Minnesota. I am a bum and a rock 'n roller in this band but my fulltime job has become trying to get my PC to look like an Apple. I know next to nothing about computers, so I can't contribute a whole lot to this community, but I thank everyone who has.

I was born in California and lived there til I was 12, when my family moved to Montana- I still live here. I have a g/f now, but actually spend more time single, not because I have no skills with the ladies, but because I usually view girls as a distraction, and also somewhat evil. Maybe this one will be the one to tame me.
I am planning on taking the Foreign Service exam and working for the U.S. State Department in embassies around the world. It is a very hard test- usually only 10% pass it. However, by living in Montana, the statistics are in my favor because of the lower population- I may even be the only one taking the test! BTW, if I pass both rounds of the test, I will be the first Foreign Service member to come from Montana! (Y)

. I'm mad about Japan - I read books, watch old movies, listen to their classical music - I love this country! Apart of that I listen to more 'western' music: King Crimson, Porcupine Tree, Nine Inch Nails, Tool, Ministry, Front 242, Peter Gabriel. Mainly proggresive rock, I think. I love sf books - William Gibson, P.K. ****, Isaac Asimov, A.C. Clarke and Stanislaw Lem (he's Polish and he's the best!). Sometimes I go to the cinema. I love gangsta movies from the 80's: Robert De Niro, Al Pacino, Brooklyn or some Italian neighbourhood, guns and men kissing when saying hello :rule:.
I know NOTHING about programming, that's why I'm here. OK, not totally nothing. I wrote maybe 3 lines of code in Pascal but it was like 7 years ago. No geek. Leech

It's been interesting to read this thread, putting some names and real life situations to the screen names. Here's my bit.
I'm Mike. I'm 20, turning 21 on Wednesday, and am resident currently in Paris, France, although I am a born and bred Englishman. I am currently studying French at university over here, but we have a week's holiday this week.
I am currently sitting in my flat waiting for the delivery company TNT to deliver my copy of Mac OS X Panther, which I'm waiting to load onto my iBook, my favourite toy. As of the moment though, I'm typing on my XP machine. Although I'm currently dual platform, given a year or so I can see myself becoming a 100% Mac man, as I do not enjoy using Windows for any length of time now.
Although it's recently dipped, I have also had a lifelong enjoyment of computer and video games. My top games ever would be Tetris on the Game Boy, Wipeout 2097 on the Playstation, Sensible Soccer on the Amiga, and the amazing Shenmue on the Dreamcast.
My big passion in life is football (soccer), and I am a big fan of Aston Villa FC, a club with an almost unrivalled tradition both domestically and on a continental stage. I have always been fascinated too with synthetic music, and am rarely seen out without my iPod. My favourite bands are New Order and Underworld, with playlists on there featuring as much electronica/trance as possible, as long as it's not too heavy.
I have no clue as to my long term future, but something will come up, it usually does.
