Wait for the G5, then you can either buy the G5 with the extra money you've saved up till then, or buy a G4 which will become less costly due to the G5.

you think thats big? I got a 17" 1GB ram and all the extras. Just to let you know, portobility with mine is the biggiest issue. Its just wide lol. So i Had to get a nice bag, it attracts the masses since its so big lol

I suggest go for the 15" The screen quality is alot better IMO.

My brother owns a 12" iBook...the quality on it kinda sucks.

I'm sorry but i have to say go for the 12", there are no problems with it, its nice and compact, fits on planes & trains really easy, unlike the 15"...

the 12" does NOT have brightness problems, i have no idea where that is coming from...

12" is also cheaper.
