[release] Dashboard Datebook

EDIT: July 13, 2003

1: The skin now uses an image for weekdays, instead of them being drawn on the background image. Now you folks that "Start weekdays from Monday" can set that option back on in Rainlendar config.

2: I have also renamed all the images with the prefix "Red" so that when other colors become available it will be much easier to sort all the schemes out in your skins folder.

I have updated the file on DA. The link to download is at the bottom of this post.

---

I've redone this skin idea to include the "ToDo" and the "Reminder" windows.

PLEASE read the readme.txt file included in the archive.

In no way did I use the graphics from the originally released version of this skin. I started if from the ground up using the images posted by "Duckie".

In no way do I want to hijack this thread with my own skin. I'm posting here because the original idea to DO this on my own came from this thread, and Magbi9 & Sid's work on the original skin.

I hope my skin will only be used as an alternative, as I've included 3 slightly different layouts for different types of Rainlendar users.

Let me be the first to say that your version is very nice indeed. Also kudos on explicitly stating that you did not use any of our graphics as a base for your skin. Some people on this forum are very touchy about using other people's work without permission. <_<

Once again..keep up the good work.

Thanks Sid. I appreciate your work in this too, and Mag's. If I hadn't seen your version I wouldn't have wanted to do mine at all. I've only done a few skins for Rainlendar, but this one taught me a few things. Took me almost a whole day trying to figure out how I would do certain things.

With regard to image useage, well, I know how touchy it is for me, as I used to skin everything under the sun and post to various sites just to get this and that ripped by those who, well, quite honestly couldn't push pixels to save their lives. I even stopped skinning altogether for almost 2 years mainly because of it.

Im haing a problem with Manyk's skin.

Ok Tobbz, I need a little more info if you can provide it.

The screenshot you showed is just the main window of the "Attached ToDo" theme I made, and looks identical to mine [there are no erros, it is how I designed it]. The only difference of course, is that you don't seem to have the "ToDo" window present in the shot.

Question: When you right-click on Rainlendar, select "Config" then go to the "Layout" tab ... then under "Show Todo list", is that option ENABLED?

If so, perhaps the list is actually off your screen and can't be seen because the X and Y coordinates are too far down and right. I would suggest setting both the X and Y values to 10, then close the Config window and the "ToDo" list will show at the top right of your screen.

Then, all you have to do is drag the ToDo window so that it lines up right at the bottom of the main calendar window ... so that the two windows actually look like one.

Hope this helps.

Uhm, ron21, you need to change your options in Rainlendar ...

Currently you have it set to start the weekdays from Monday ... hence your dates are incorrect :)

Also, I will be doing a grey/black verison of the skin in a while ... time permitting. I need to edit some psds and such so I can quickly apply color layers for other color versions as well. But starting with a grey/black will be the first.

But for the time being, you might want to redo the greyscaling, as you didn't mask out the white tab portion showing on the background skin ... it's a bit greyed out ;-)

Anyone know how to hide the calendar window and show only todo window?

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Yup ... right click on Rainlendar [the main window, the calendar]

Select "Config", then click on the "Hotkeys" tab

Now, beside "Toggle" enter a hotkey.

Now when you hit your hotkey combo, the calendar window and the todo list will toggle. One shows, the other doesn't.

This will only work if you have the todo list showing in the "Layout" tab. If the todo list is not showing, the "Toggle" command [hotkey] will hide/show the calendar window on your screen.

#187743

hmm...when i press a Toggle key, it hide both calendar and todo windows?

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

OK, I 'think' rainlendar resets everytime it is loaded after being closed. When it comes to toggles anyway.

Here's what I would do.

1st: You set up rainlendar with a normal shortcut to run, and show the todo list in config. So that, when you launch Rainlendar, it will show both windows.

2nd: Make another shortcut [just copy the normal one somewhere else]

Name the shortcut "toggletodo" [or whatever you want]

Right click on the shortcut and select "Properties"

In the "Target" field enter the following:

"C:\Program Files\Rainlendar\Rainlendar.exe" !rainlendartoggletodo

Now, your path to the main executable may be different, but it's always in quotes.

After the quotes is a !bang command to toggle the todo.

Then hit "ok" and what you do is double click on that shortcut. Now, this will hide the todo window, so, what you need to do now is hit your shortcut key to "toggle" the main windows. [as I mentioned in the previous post]

NOTE: This shortcut will only work when the main app is running. You can't load rainlendar with it, you must run rainlendar normally with either the executable or the main shortcut first!

I've tried everything I can think of to NOT have two shortcuts and a shortcut key to hit to get it to only show the todo window. This is as 'slim' as I can get the process to work for me every time.

Hope this helps.

#187781

Ok it's works... Thanks a lot for help... Manyk

hope the next release of Rainlendar has an option to open only Todo window :P

#187793

Manyk -

Thanks for letting me know about that. I didn't even realize it lol

EDIT: July 13, 2003

The skins have been edited to use a weekday image. Now you folks that choose to start your weekdays from Monday don't have to alter that setting in Rainlendar's config. ;-)

The file has been updated on DA. The link to download is at the bottom of this post.

Also note, Red [Original] release of mine is located HERE

Alrighty folks, here's the "GREY" theme for my Rainlendar Dashboard.

All three layouts are included, of course. Screenshot only shows one, as I'm lazy when it comes to doing shots ;-)

SCREENSHOT:

Manyk_Dashboard_GREY_Rainlendar_Screenshot.jpg

INFO:

Simply unzip the archive into the SAME directory as your current Manyk Dashboard skin directory. All the files [ini and graphics] have been renamed accordingly. So when you reload/refresh Rainlendar, a new set will show in the skins menu for Rainlendar. [same as before, just 3 more with prefix Grey]

DOWNLOAD at Deviantart.

fabulous!

love this skin... gonna try grey now :)

How'd you get the little white pad for notes? It's not showing up for me

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

White pad?

There isn't one ... unless you mean the "Reminder Box" which will only pop up depending on how you have that set up in Rainlendar.

If you mean the "Todo List", make sure that is set up in config to actually show ... but it's not white.

Right click on Rainlendar, select Config, select the Layout tab...under "Todo List", make sure "Show Todo list" is enabled.

#189001

sweeeet. thanks for the grey version too.

This is an awesome skin. You've done a very good job.
